R21 ec and downriggers

Hello All
I was wondering if anyone has installed downriggers on their R21? I've looked at the boat and it seems that the most logical place might be just behind the rod holders (toward the bow). Any input would be appreciated.

Why not use a gimbal mount and mount the downriggers in the rod holders? Seems like the simplest solution.

I thought of that and that certainly would work. I had just thought that the weight and pull may require a more permanent solution.
