Raymarine C-80 GPS problem

The mileage log on my Raymarine C-80 suddenly stopped working recently and is not recording. The rest of the GPS functions seem to be working fine. Does anybody know what might have caused that?

I'll dig into my manual, but I thought someone on this site may have had a similar problem.

G Allen: I am having the same problem but mine is the E-80...but, my problem is that I have been going so many other directions, my boat has not moved.

I hate it when that happens. Congradulations of finding the setting as it took me a bit to get into that menu page, but know that I know where it is it is pretty easy and the different trips are handy too.

Keep me posted on the fix/issue.

Looking at your post, when all other functions are working, I take it speed over ground is working and not using the speed over water?

The problem turned out to be that some sand was jamming up the transducer paddle wheel so that it could not turn. Once I freed it, the mileage log begin recording again. I thought the mileage was generated by the GPS satellite readings, but that turned out not to be the case.

If you are recording SOG (Speed over Ground) it does come from the GPS. If you are recording SOW (Speed over Water) it comes from the paddlewheel.
