Reefmadness TC255 for Sale

Sadly, Margaret & I are putting Reefmadnes for sale. We purchased her new. We are going to purchase a motorhome to do some land cruising and, need a boat that we can tow with a class C motorhome. I have listed her in the for sale column of this web site. If you're looking for a well loved and cared for TomCat 255 please contact me. We might be able to find a 22 cruiser to suit our needs.

Thank you
Gene Morris

Gene, WOW, that is a nice TC-255. Hummmmm sounds like a swap for a 22 might be in order. Could be a great switch for you and ?????.

Best in your new venture.

Wish the stars were aligned and I could buy this. Not many boats are better than a 25 cruiser but a tomcat with new power! I’m sending this too a couple friends with 22’s they are considering moving up from.

Ahha, the advantage of the C-BRAT community -- networking. Everybody wins.

Thanks everyone. This was the hardest thing for me to do. I will really miss our ability to cruise and fish for albacore. Reefmadness is sold. I will be able to finalize it tomorrow. There were three other prospective buyers that were willing to come out to California within the next two weeks to see her. All the way from the east coast to Anchorage. I will call them tomorrow when the arrangements are finalized. There is sure a demand for used Tom Cats. I know why, they are great versatile boats for fishing and cruising. We have had some great adventures on her for the last 14 years. I will miss her dearly.

This is all well and good, Gene, and I wish you the best in your overland travels, but you will not be allowed to leave C-Brats. You and Margaret are just too good to let go!

I remember meeting you up in Bellingham and I recall the back deck cocktails on Reef Madness and how gracious and kind Margaret was to my grandchildren. I miss Dawson, too. He is also an honorary C-Brat beyond his lifetime.

I will watch for you to update your ad when the sale is finalized and will mark it sold and move it to the reference forum. Best of luck in everything.

Congratulations on the bitter sweet sale of a truly great boat. We know the feeling... Don 't forget that "Camp Thataway" has full RV hookups as well as a dock and trailer parking.

See you on the road.

Gene, Congratulations on your sale. And all the best in your land yacht endeavors. Do hope you keep hanging out here. Stay safe.

I am happy to admit that I'm the lucky one that landed Reefmadness! I'm so incredibly lucky that, unbeknownst to me, my wife worked out the deal with Gene and surprised me with the purchase! Karin (my wonderful partner) had hoped to keep this secret until Christmas (I might have noticed parked in the yard...) but told me about it because I was calling about a 22 that recently showed up on Craigslist in the Portland area. Am I the luckiest guy or what?!? :xlol

I've been lurking in the forums for a few years now after seeing my first C-Dory at the boat show in Portland and have been looking for a 19 or 22 to get started with, keeping the tomcat as the likely unreachable goal. Starting off with a tomcat is a little daunting as my boating experience has been with sub-20 foot runabouts for fishing and water skiing since I was a kid. I'm looking forward to the challenge and all the new things to learn with a cruising boat.

Gene, I'm very impressed with all the improvements you've made to Reefmadness and hope that I can keep her as happy as you have with your care and feeding. I look forward to talking with you more and seeing you in a few weeks to pick her up.

Pat's wife Karin was going to try to keep it a secret until Christmas. I was really curious how she was going to do that. It didn't seem possible to me. Really glad that she told him. I look forward to talking to Pat and go over the particulars of Reefmadness. Congratulations Pat. Karin was extremely excited about the purchase. You're a lucky man!!

Talk to you soon

Gene

Well, I just posted on the parallel thread, Congrats to both Gene and to Pat and Karin. Then I found this. Now some secrets are just not that easy to keep. Any gal that can hide a TomCat 255 under a pillow in the spare room is definitely a keeper. Pat, and Karin, Welcome to the Brat site and you are almost neighbors.

Gene, congrats and condolences on the sale of the TomCat; I can appreciate the bittersweet time when you say good-bye to a great boat. That said, this whole story brings a big ol' smile to my face. Congratulations to Pat and Karin!
