Here is another guy very pleased with the Suzuki DF200, which is an I4. I went from an older Honda 130 hp to the Suzuki 200 hp at about the same weight, and the difference is amazing! More speed, more throttle response, more power to climb swells, and better fuel economy.
The V6 200 hp motors are about a hundred pounds heavier than the inline 4.
On calm water with minimal current my old CD25 hit 42 mph, which is way too fast for the hull. It was pretty squirrelly. It can cruise easily at 30 mph at ~5000 rpm, and I usually run at 20 mph at 4500 rpm.
You will not be sorry with the added hp regardless of your motor choice. There are lots of them out there, so continue the research.
