Repower

I finally got off my duff and repowered the Gregor tinnie with a Suzuki 25 (tiller, electric start and trim). I had intended to go to Sportcraft, but received a better quote from Indian Creek Sports in Kuna, Idaho. They were 200 miles closer, and also honored my Oregon residency, not charging sales tax.

Nice folks, nice facility.

Brings back memories of me sinking my Gregor in Bullfrog Bay. Forty mile per hour winds and 5 foot waves. Waves rolling over the transom hitting the bow and going back out of the transom. Hey but the level flotation worked and we motored to the shore and bailed it out. Camped on the shore for the night and moved on the next day. Later in the week came back to camp and there was my tent rolling across the beach with 2 one foot rocks that I had tied to it for anchors. That's just spring time at Powell. That should a good motor for your Gregor.

I think you'll really like that engine choice. I have an old 2 stroke 25 horse mercury on mine and it absolutely rips. I use it to tow kids around the lake. Everyone including myself are always surprised at how powerful that setup is.

I slalom waterskied behind a 13' boat and a 25 hp Evinrude--in the late 1950's. Good choice.

Bob, those were the days. In the early 1960s, dad bought an open 14’ fiberglass Performer, with an 18 hp tiller steered Evinrude. My sister and I could ski behind it, but not enough poop for mom and dad. It soon sported a 35 hp Johnson, with a deck and wheel steering. We took it offshore to chase salmon at Nehalem and Winchester Bay as well. I don’t think I’d do that now.
