Repowering w/115

I finally did the deed this morning, we are repowering our CD 22 with a Suzuki 115. The boat goes in next week, and we should have it early the following week. If anyone with a similar setup has prop recommendations, I'd appreciate your feedback. Right now, I'm thinking a 17 & 19 or 19 & 21 pitch would make a good pair to have.

I'm putting the motor Honda 90 Hp (carbureted) w/Permatrim, plus an 8 Hp Honda Classic on consignment with Sportcraft. I have 3 props for the main, a stainless 15, and 13 and 17 aluminum props that will be for sale. A spare thrust washer, too. If you're interested, let me know.

Congrats! Bet you'll love the extra thrust of the larger prop/engine!

Why not start with the 19, run it for a bit, then decide if you want a 17 or 21 as second prop.

FWIW, I'm running a 15x17 on the Command Thrust 90, obviously not same motor, but has similar displacement at 2.1L, and similar gear ratio (2.38 vs. 2.59)... Boat weight has been increasing over the last year but I'm still reaching almost the middle of the max rpm range for the motor...this weekend I'm going to be trying out a 15.25x15 for pushing heavier loads. Would think that for you a 17" is great for heavier loads and 19 for everyday use, but start with the 19 and see!

Enjoy the new motor!

I've got a 2007 CD-22 Cruiser with a 2007 Mercury 115hp, 4 stroke efi. I'm running a 3 blade 14 x 13, or 4 blade 13.25" dia. X 13" . Actually I usually run the 4 blade. Very happy with it. WOT with either prop gives me about 6500 rpm's, so I'm on spec. Colby

I'm running 13-7/8" X 17 pitch Solas SS on my DF-115 sea level and use a 15 pitch for Lake Powell and Yellowstone. Remember the Suzuki is geared lower than the other motors so what they use won't work for yours.

Thanks, that is exactly what I was interested in.

Of course my boats on the heavy side most of the time so I would start with a 17 at sea level. If it over revs then I have a 19 aluminum that you might want. Then the 17 would work for Powell. I don't think there is much difference between aluminum and Stainless at least with my tests no great gains.

When at Lake Powell, we refer to our boat as the African Queen... Way to much stuff!

The guys at Sportcraft are going to help me prop it, but your info looks like a great starting point...

The deed is done, and much less than I thought it might run. Sportcraft is great to work with... The boat (lightly loaded) propped out with a 19 pitch here on the Willamette. WOT was in the 5,600 - 5,800 range. I am going to run that for a while and see what I think. I have a used 17 pitch as a backup.

I still have a stainless 15 pitch prop, thrust washer and nut, motor cover and fresh water wash attachment if anyone is interested, and will do an inventory of what there is. I'll put a separate thread out for that stuff.
