Joyce and I were happy and proud to attend the Seattle University commencement ceremonies this AM. Our son (Roger G.) has completed his degree in Computer Science. He's not only on his way to a successful life, he already has a good paying, full time job in his field, a house that he and his wife bought on their own nickle and a good marriage to a lovely lady.

We don't always see eye to eye and we had our difficulties along the way but we're very proud of who he is and how he got there. Here's a few photos of the day.

Congrats, Roger & Roger! The young Roger sounds like a man who knows how to go after and get what he wants. I especially liked that "on his own nickle" part! :thup

Best wishes,
Jim

Roger and Roger Jr. Congrats. Big day and sounds like he is (and looks like it too) good at balancing thinks out. You all can be proud.

My limited experience (single data point) is that the offspring tax is mostly a unidirectional flow. E.g. the parent pays and the child/children make it taxing.

Congrats, You must be very proud. As I recall he took the long road but seems to be doing very well for himself now. We have one job in life as parents. To produce well mannered, self sufficient, contributing members of society. Looks like you went over and above, good job.

Congratulations Roger and Joyce. You earned the right to be very proud parents. As for Roger Jr., congratulations to him as well. I took the same route as him, got married young while still in college and persevered to attain my degree. It wasn't easy, my choice was definitely the harder road but it all worked out well in the end. Sounds like Roger Jr. is well on his way to a successful career. Good for him!
