Screwing holes in the sides of the cabin top... how thick?

Hey gang, I am looking at mounting some things here and there: storage racks, fire extinguishers, plate and cup holders etc...
What are the wall thicknesses above the sink?
Next to the door?
I don't want to poke through like some of the previous owner's screws.

Without knowing exactly what you intend to put up I don't know if this is feasible for your needs BUT: I tried to use the window frame screws to mount hanging brackets etc, whenever possible. That worked well for small speakers in the rear cabin corners and fire extinguisher by the door. Depending on the thickness of your bracket you may have to use slightly longer screws of the same size. It is a very solid mount. There are some pictures of this in my album, page 2 photos #35 and #36.
 
I hate drilling holes in our boat. The sides are not very thick. It the cabin I tend to adhere starboard and then screw into that. I like the idea of using the window frame screws. In the cockpit I use a lot of SeaSucker's. Hope to see you on Lake Superior this summer.

Sound out the top of your 25 to see where it is cored and where not. On my 2003, the center part was not cored, but the outer part (not raised) was cored--and you could put screws in without issues. The cabin sides, are thin. Aft bulkhead is cored. You will have to check out the thickness of the foreword bulkhead of the head. You can check that where the shower fixtures or the toilet paper holder is cut into that bulkhead.

As much as I love Starboard, It can be difficult to get it to adhere to other surfaces. I have found wood, or PVC lumber to be better ref adhesion to the side walls, and that is what I use. For example for the paper towel holder and speakers I have epoxied the wood to the side of the cabin. I mix the epoxy, and if irregular thicken it with cabosil, or use a thickened epoxy. Hot glue holds the wood in place until the epoxy dries. I have used the window frame screws in some cases, but often they are not positioned correctly for the item I wish to put on the side.

Also depending on what you want to hang where, you might consider 3M double stick tape, or the hangers that have a stretchy rubberish achesive that is removable.

I agree, I hate putting holes in my boat.
