Sea pro boats to close the doors. Kind of a shame. Good boat in some aspects. Around 300 working there. Owned by the brunswick corp. Pool table or boat???? Dang land lovers!!!!!!

Brunswick is closing quite a few of its' boat companies. After the buying spree they went on a few years ago it was only a matter of time.

" Industry analyst Marisa Thompson, who tracks Brunswick for Morningstar Inc., said the boating business is at its lowest point in 15 years, calling 2007 a "complete bust" for new boat sales.

"Nothing on the horizon makes me believe this thing will turn around," Thompson said Friday. "Brunswick would not have done this if it was not absolutely necessary."

The Fortune 500 company also is scrapping its Laguna, Palmetto and Sea Boss lines. "

I wish I had the know how. I would try to purchase a mold or two and start a small shop. I use to spray gel coat on molds for cultured marble as first job out of high school. Hard to compete with the big boys. Sea hunt is a popular brand here. compared directly with the sea pro in price and style. Should they shut down it will be one of the last low priced boats in town in there class. Key west boats will be only one left here.

Brunswicks' strategy was to buy all the manufacturers they could just to put black on all the transoms. Seemed like a really risky and expensive way to sell motors. If they would just shut down SeaDoo something good could come out of all this.
