Seattle Opening Day

We took the trawler to Opening Day this last weekend and ended up with a brief clip on the Kiro TV story (from :56 to 1:02):

There was a CD "Nor Irish" acting as a Patrol boat:

My club competed (not very well) for the "Wilson Seamanship Trophy", which was won by the Classic Yacht Association:

The CYA didn't do anything fancy - the large boat in the center came to a stop, the boats to the sides continued - then the large boat came back up to speed.

Anyway, I was thinking that perhaps local C-Brats would be interested in competing for this trophy next year. With CD maneuverability (e.g. those with twins could spin in place) and cuteness, I think it could be a winner.

Nice clip, and I think it sounds like a fun idea. I have watched the local (Sequim Bay Yacht Club) do their opening day maneuvers, and it looks fun.

Don't know that we have seen "Nor Irish" around these parts.
