I heard my shower box pump running on and on last night so opened it up and it was on but not pumping.
Marina I am at had an automatic one I bought.
When I check the voltage thru the brown(+) and black (-) and if I wire the blue magic switch wires together I get 1.7 volts. If I unconnected the blue magic wires the brown and black read 0.
And suggestions?

Did the pump appear to be running slow? Something is off, since the old pump was running, you should be getting at least in the vicinity of 10 volts or so. Do you have any corrosion on the wire, the fuse and/or the negative buss bar? That can play tricks on you. I will start by inspecting all the connections point then the wires for damage and corrosion. You might also check your multimeter on something else that has no issues.

I checked every fuse on the fuse panel behind the helm . Meter read 12 volts .
I don’t understand that at night I put a weight on the blue magic and in the morning removed it and the pump would not run .
Do you know what fuse goes to that pump ?
Where do the two black wires for the blue magic switch go ?
No noticable corrosion anywhere .

I had to replace the wash down pump on my 25. There was no power to the pump via the switch. I traced down a broken wire. It was one of the wires that rubbed through the insulation as it was hard onto the deck. Vibration caused it to wear all the way through. I would try testing continuity on each wire.
On my shower sump box, I don't believe it is fused, but I could be wrong.

On my Tom Cat 255 when new, I found the slower drain was not hooked up to the tubing going to the sump box. The pump would not work, so someone at the factory disconnected the drain, to allow the shower water to go into the bilge! It turned out that the wire from the fuse (switch on the console) was # 22 and doubled in a 10/12 crimp fitting to a #14 wire to the sump...that crimp had failed. I suspect something like that along the way has happened to your sump wiring. Trace it from the console. It goes under the galley, then to the shower, and finely the switch and sump. Where is your switch?

No switch. It is automatic . Checked every fuse in the fuse block behind the helm . All good .

What is the Shower Box Pump and what is its Purpose. I have a little box W/cover in the doorway. It doesn't seem to make any noise though it has a small pub in it. Is that the Shower box? Or is this something that only larger boats have?
