Site Change - www.c-brats.com

I've made some changes over the last couple of days that may result in some temporary strange site behavior for some of you. The complete story follows, but for those of you not interested in all the tech details, doing the following should get things back to normal for you.

These instructions assume you are using Internet Explorer on Windows. For those of you using better browsers and operating systems (jab jab, Mr. Gates), I'll assume you know how to clear your cache and cookies - just do so, and you should be fine.

From within Internet Explorer (IE):

Tools..Internet Options..Delete Cookies..OK

Tools..Internet Options..Delete Files..Delete all offline content..OK

Tools..Internet Options..Clear History..Yes

After doing the above, reboot. Actually, a reboot is probably not necessary if you close all open IE windows, then start IE back up again, but it won't hurt.

The Gory Details

Once upon a time, it was decided to snatch up a bunch of domain names for the C-Brats. Currently, our buddy TyBoo has laid claim to all of the following:

c-brats.com
c-brat.com
c-brat.net
c-brat.org

They've all pointed to the same web site (here) for some time, but the forum software and your browser could get confused if you came to the site using multiple addresses. For example, say your bookmark pointed at www.c-brat.net, but you clicked on a link (in the forums, or somewhere else) where somebody had used www.c-brats.com. Your browser interprets this as two different web sites, even though they are the same place. The most common problem reported when this happens - you are forced to login a second time.

The fix - I've made a change on the server where the web site resides. Whenever the server sees a request coming from the last three domains listed above, it will redirect things on the fly to www.c-brats.com. Try it if you want - enter www.c-brat.net in your browser, and you'll notice the address changes as soon as the site loads.

You may want to change your bookmarks to reflect www.c-brats.com, but it's not mandatory. However, just for consistency's sake, the "official" address of this site is now www.c-brats.com. If you set up links elsewhere, or refer folks to this site, that's the address you should use.

Feel free to drop me a PM or report it here if you have any site problems as a result of this change.

Bill, strange site behavior, I am unable to add any photos to my album! I get a message....."can't handle jpgcopying format". Can you help? Thanks.....
Speaking of strange behavior, (on a lighter note), It has been my observation that folks who buy C-Dorys are generally of a more mature* nature, you've seen the hair on head jokes, but have you noticed in the photo albums, if one of the photos has a pitcher of a woman with the boat, it get's far more hits then then all the others? Two to three times more!
Wonder what that makes us?.........

Two things come to mind - bad file, or too big.

Usually, the "too big" problem occurs when trying to add multiple large files - if you haven't tried already, try uploading just one file.

Do you know the file is good? Can you view it locally on your PC?

If by "us", you mean "C-Brat men", I'd say the answer is "ugly"...
