Some good sales at Westmarine

I was in West Marine the other day looking at the smaller Lowrance
units. They currently have the LMS-337C DF on sale for about $550.
Best price I've seen is about $650, but that is from an Internet store.
Not sure what West sold it for full price - about $700, I think. They
also have other 2006 models on sale, but I didn't pay as much
attention to them.

I was at a boat show today and spoke to the Lowrance rep. The main
difference between the older unit and the newer unit is that
the LMS-525C DF will accept their new radar units. I'm not sure
I would want to cram chart plotting, sounding and radar onto a 5"
screen anyhow. Besides, the smaller Furono B/W units aren't much
more than the Lorance Radars.

The sale ends 3/4 I believe. I have no idea how nationwide the
sale is.

My boat came with that model Lowrance. I really like it, lots of detail, sharp picture, and quite intuitive operation. How do they do that?

My understanding is the same as Mike's, but currently none of the Lowrance products do Radar overlay on the charts. (Information from the Factory web site). I have one Lowrance very similar to this unit which I have operated for 5 years, and the LCX 26 and am very happy with both.
