A lovely day in the NW corner of Oregon. This is the middle of Spring Break.

Patty here. I have one thing to say---grrrrrrr!!!! Ticks me off. Our daughter in Denver whined on the phone today that it was 70 degrees and she was suffocating in her office. Waa-waa!!

Waa-waa is right! Hey Patty - now that I have you on the line, how you all doing? Jamie asked me today if there was a "lately" picture of Baxter on here and I told her I would request one.

Well, we shall try to accommodate Jamie's request! Tonight he is simply too scruffy for a "lately" picture! Probably this weekend...he is now referred to around here affectionately as The Palace Guard Dog, owing to his Tibetian roots, plus he barks a lot! We go for a 2 mile walk every morning, and it is absolutely his favorite thing in the world. His second favorite thing is taking a flying leap from the swim step to the dinghy! If he could only learn to do all his business OUTSIDE, he would be A-OK! He is much better on the boat than in the house, oddly enough...My cousin took care of Baxter for a week, and now Baxter has a cousin named Alexi, who is probably Sophie's cousin too, who he likes to visit when we are away...that would be quite a gathering, Sophie, Baxter and Alexi! Baxter and two mini-me girls! Here is a shot of Alexi!

Jamie says thanks. She likes Alexi! Here's a shot of Sophie wanting to eat the ducks.

Yesterday morning I was in Baltimore and it was 55 degrees and sunny. Landed at Denver at 4pm, 72 degrees and sunny. Landed at Seattle at 8pm and it was snowing! Had snowed most of the day. This morning it is white outside and below freezing. And now, a winter storm watch for tomorrow morning with 3 to 7 inches of snow expected between here and Hood Canal.

And the kids called from Phoenix and complained because it was over 90!

Crazy.

Clearly, I don't want to see another posting with green grass in it until May........It is not fair. OK, wait, I bet by August you guys are sick of seeing my 70 pound halibut, and 5 zillion salmon that I will catch by September, BRING ON THE PICS!!!!!Let's get spring, sprung!

I was going to post a couple sunrise photos here that I shot this morning, but decided to put them on Wild Blue's thread... I just know it would have seemed like gloating.

Hope spring arrives very soon for you.

Best wishes,
Jim

Well, the grass is only green because of the moss here, and there ain't no halibut...I would just like a few sunny days here, please - this morning I left home for work in a mini-snow storm. Yuk!

I've been trying to remember...think it was either '64 or '65 when we had snow in May (I was in high school in Battle Ground WA then ... whew!) ... not much snow, but a dusting. This moist stuff is the price we pay for the green stuff, and it sure beats lookin at ol brown sage brush or brown hilltops

I really shouldn't complain too much. It was 50 today at my house. Whittier last week (just south of here and out the banana belt of Alaska) picked up 5 feet of snow. I do hope it melts as I was looking forward to launching out of there last weekend to chase some winter kings.

Hey TyBoo, really enjoyed your "Winter Sucks" post (all the others are good, too). It's snowing really big flakes here in B'Ham. Lots of the white stuff! Up to 4+ inches on the handrail. Joe just wants to go somewhere where there's global warming & he says he doesn't care where that is......32F at approx. 10:40am.

Ummm... nevermind.

Oh, alright - at 12:42 (we're two hours different from Joe and Ruth), it's 80º.

Jim, I'm thinking you should forget the captain's license thing and get a real estate license. You could make a killing off of us from the PNW and you could choose your new neighbors.

Might get over 40 in Sequim today. Most of the snow is gone! :crook

Hi Roger,
I hope all my friends there know I'm just funnin' around. Oh sure, when we came to the Seattle Boat Show two years ago and Tom poked fun 'cause he was in a sweater and we were in heavy coats. And just last JULY when Joe and Ruth took us to meet Roger, Les, Patrick, and Bill... and there were a few comments about us being all bundled up...

Yep, that was fun.

A real estate license? Even here the market is flat. Maybe a boat/RV/Hummer dealership?

Oh, and the forecast for this week: next 7 days, highs around 80º, nighttime lows in the upper 60s. Yep, it's springtime... and we're heading for the desert to see our daughter. :crook

Over 40º? With the cabin on your TomCat and the Wallas running, you're good to go! :D

Best wishes,
Jim

Right now I'm at a mall with two 14 yo clothes shopping girls and typing this on a goofy little phone. I'll take a pic of the snow in the hills on the way home. If I ever get to go home.

I found something to do at that mall while the girls shopped.

On the way home through the hills (about 1600' elevation).

Mike - I'm glad to see there was a tackle shop in the mall - that mall's a "keeper". Hopefully the girls didn't bore you too much with their shopping. It's could up here too - we have sleet/snow falling and I have a fire going in the fireplace. Burning up some of that wood I chopped up around thanksgiving.
