Starting The Adventure

With retirement just around the corner I'm heading to Juneau tomorrow to buy another boat, an 18' Bayrunner. In early spring I'll tow it to Baja and leave it so in the future we can fly down and use it. I'm not looking forward to the drive, about 4,500 miles, but it'll be worth it. Once I buy the boat we are commited!!! The C-Dory is staying here. Wish me luck.

Bearbait-

Well, here's wishing you luck!

Keep track of your:

Miles traveled

Gasoline gallons

Gasoline miles per gallon

Coffee gallons

Miles per gallon of coffee

Stay awake and have fun!

Joe.

I take it that you'll be flying down, once the boat is in Baja. Where in Baja? Cabo? La Paz or Loreto?

When we were down on a boat a few years ago, the road down was not to well maintained, but I wouldn't predict the condition now. Don't forget to get an import permit, if it's going to stay longer than 6 mos. It will work out, I have a friend who keeps a panga in Cabo, and he's happier than a pig in mud.

Bearbait...here's to you on your trip! :beer (replace beer with large coffee cup)

Truly hope you have a safe trip!

I really enjoyed traveling from Bozeman, MT to Homer, AK for 5 summers. Figured it was a time relax, reflect, enjoy and don't forget to stay focused while driving.

If I could steal away and you wanted someone to help drive I'd be there in a minute. I would consider it another "trip of a lifetime".

I'm back and the proud owner of a well neglected Bayrunner. I tried to put it in the water yesterday and after busting ice with an axe for 30 minutes found that it was so cold the shifter wouldn't move. I'll be going to Los Barriles, about 70 miles north of Los Cabos. I've got a winter project!

Bairbait, are you really in North Pole, AK? There is another C-Brat in that little town, a guy named Jack Schnurr whose CD 22 is in my yard from the Langford Gathering this summer. He flew back home and is coming back in about 3 weeks to head for Fla for the winter.

His town is just outside of Fairbanks and his wife is vet.

Charlie

Yep, I'm in North Pole, I don't know Jack, at least that's what people tell me. There are lots of brats around here, C-Dory's are good boats for Prince William Sound, which is the nearest piece of salt water.
