Today...is special

Time does indeed, fly.

I'm so blessed to have had y'all in my life. Many of you were here on day one and still check in regularly. Others no longer own C-Dorys, but still pop in to see what their C-Brat friends are up to. Some moved on to other interests, and many - unfortunately - are no longer with us at all. :love

It's all part of our wonderful C-Brat family history, and today marks 20 years since we first launched this site.

That's pretty special. Consider this a virtual hug to all my C-Brat pals.

I would be one of those "boatless" C-Brats. I still look in most days, because this place has felt like "home" for nearly 2 decades for me. Our boatless days are our future: tomorrow, we do the final walk-through and get the keys for the new house in the desert. Our daughter has been lobbying for this for years, and got Joan onboard with making a move last winter... I knew my days as an island boy were numbered.

A couple years ago, I mentioned to the Blonde: "Maybe we should sell everything and move onboard another boat."

She said, "You can do that with your next wife."

I am glad we did the cruising we did with Wild Blue (our CD-25), when we did. We were younger, stronger, and more flexible back then. We still enjoy a wandering lifestyle, but it is with a motorhome instead of a boat... some say the natural progression: sailboat > trawler > RV.

Will, I appreciate all you and Mike have done to make this place a home for those of us who appreciate the C-Dory lifestyle. I will continue to check in here regularly - good friends and fun menories.

Best wishes,
Jim

Facebook has several "C-Dory" groups on it now, and while more and more folks are joining those groups, Facebook will never provide the wealth of information stored and searchable here on C-Brats. Thanks DaNag and Tyboo for keeping this going. BTW, how are the upgrades coming along? Colby

Well, I am one of the "C Dogs" (toward the end of its life) and transferred over to C Brats when It was first available. Kudos to Both of Da Nag and TyBoo! Excellent web forum because of you and all of the contributors. It is the people who make the C Dory Family. I understand that adding photos is easier on the "Facebook" sites, but they do not develop the extended family that C Brats are.

This family is what makes the C Brats so special.

Again a big thanks to all, and although I am C Doryless, I will continue to visit daily (when I can). We are close to the point where even the RV is going to be a challenge. I have transitioned to a mobility scooter when any long distances (like over 100 yards of walking) is required as in the Meet in the Middle.

We are also now boatless, but check in almost daily. We joined Dec. 8th of 2003, so not quite 20 years ago. We were also old C-Dogs before C-Brats. Started with a 1984 Classic before the TomCats.

Like JamesTXSD we bought a place in the desert and go from 6 months in Utah and 6 months in Arizona.

Well that went fast... I was just looking at cdorys the last year of the cdogs and remember when the new group of brats broke off to do thier own thing. Loved being here every since.

To Will and Mike (TYBOO)

Hey Will,

You say 20 years ago! Man, it seems like a 100....I remember standing in line for your special coffee on the dock at Fisherman's Bay, Lopez Island. That was some damn good coffee! Then off the water when we all helped Jon and Cynthia move out to Freshwater Bay. Ruthie and I have not forgotten meeting your parents. Wonderful people.

As you say all of us C-Brats have had some great adventures with other Brats at different times. None of you are forgotten and it brings great joy to my heart as I look back on them.

Hello Mike,

Been a while since we've chatted but sure do want to thank you for the work you've done on the C-Brat site all these years. So many fun memories of you and your awesome grandkids. Fun times at Blakely, Bellingham, Sequim, Warrenton and other spots. Always enjoyed your company!

We are proud to be a part of this group.

Thank you to all that have made this site so important to the boating world, especially the C-Dory world. I started with a 22, moved to a 25 for about 8 years and now down to my 16. Still living on Guemes Is.
