I've been wanting to mount a paper towell rack on the cabin wall and was wondering what everyone is using, since the wall is too thin for screws. 5200? Epoxy? Wondering how you remove it in the future if need be.
 
I haven't gotten around to a PT holder but most I've seen have mounted them with 5200. This is how I mounted my wood strips for my curtain tracks.
 
The 4200 is designed especially to be much more removable than 5200, and can be softened with a special solvent or cut with a wire or high tech braided fishing line when needed, to remove.

Silicone will work, too, and like both the above, will have to have the wood blocks taped in place with masking tape until it sets up. It's less likely to harm the paint.

Epoxy works, too, but is a bit of overkill, and will take the interior paint off with it when removed.

We mounted a wood block with 5200, then screwed the towel holder to the block.
 
I used a two sided sticky putty like substance (can you see I don't remember the name of it} and just stuck the pt holder to it. That was 3 years ago and it hasn't fallen off yet. I also used it to hang a clock and have move it and it and the sticky stuff came right off.

I have enough stuff on the walls already, so I mounted the PT rack on the inside of the cabinet door below the sink. Works great!
 
Paper towel holder is free standing (same on the 25 and the RV)--But for other items we mounted teak boards to the cabin wall. First scuff up the surface finish, then we used 5 minute epoxy and 5200, both. Works well--just consider the block is going to stay there--and that is what you want.
 
On things I'm uncertain about the location I've used industrial strength velcro from Lowe's so if I decided I didn't like the location it could be relocated. It works very well on smooth gel coat surfaces.

Thanks for the picture, but everything seen in it is attached mechanically. The outmost pieces of teak use screws into the bulkhead, as does the Valkyrie nameplate with the clock and barometer. The bookrack is through-bolted. Only the paper towel rack is epoxied in place.

Like Roger; I too, have mounted my $1.50 PT holder on the inside of the
cabinet door under the sink with the two supplied screws. It is out of way
and readily available from the helm, if needed.

I also use the PT holder frame as a support point to hold the door open
with a bungie cord when I have to work under the sink area. This is
especially helpful when I have the CD25 on a work rack at the marina, for
the racks have an upward tilt up to allow water to drain out and off of the
boats.

If you mount on the highest part of the wall like I did, you can just bolt it on. The Roof Cap hides the holes, nuts, everything and no messing with 5200.
