Hi Bill,
Do a search here and you will find scads of threads about towing weights. This topic comes up regularly. We have a CD-25 that we were told should be about 6,500 pounds "all up" on the trailer, loaded for cruising. They missed that by over a ton - our boat/trailer/gear (very little fuel, much of the cruising gear carried in the bed of the pickup) weighed in at 8,700 pounds.
I am not sure what the towing capacity of your F150 is (wide variety that I've seen reported, from 5,200 to 11,300 pounds, depending on the year, body style, transmission, rear end, etc), but we tow with a GMC 2500HD Duramax/Allison, and it is a good match up. We also had the trailer brakes converted to electric over hydraulic, which makes a very significant difference, especially on long downhills. Our trailer is the King Saltwater Series, galvanized.
Check your Ford owners manual to see what it says. I would be surprised to find any CD-25 with twins and gear to come in much less than 8,000 pounds on the trailer.
Hope that helps,
Jim B.
