trailer winch height for 25

Greg, I can easily measure it today but I am confused as to the exact dimension you need. Are you talking the plumb line of the center of the reel to the split off of the trailer as it goes astern?

Mark is on the right track. It is a Venture bunk model and has never had the boat on it and I will pulling it for the first time next month. I really just need the basics and I will refine it down the road as necessary.

I would like to know how high off the frame the winch is so I have some basic alignment from the start. I am assuming that the winch would be roughly in line with the bow eye as the boat comes forward. I also posed an early question never answered about the width of the side guides and perhaps how high they are vertically related to the bunk supports.

These items are all easily moveable on the trailer but I would like to avoid too much wrenching at the ramp next month.

Thanks to anyone with a few minutes and a measuring tape,

Greg

~19 5/8" vertically from the top of my trailer tongue to the center of the winch.

the side guides...how high they are vertically related to the bunk supports.

Difficult to measure since the bunks are under the boat. I measured from the top of the trailer frame to the top of the guides; ~19 1/2". The tops of the guides basically sit just under the center chine on the side of the hull (the one that, if you follow it back, intersects w/ the scuppers).

Can't measure width w/ the boat on the trailer.

Hope that helps. Let me know if you need more before Saturday, as I'm going out of town.

I just lowered the winch down to your measure from about 4 inches higher but the side guides are high at 26 in. Where on the boat would it hit at that height? Your answer will tell me which of two adjustment options i should pursue.

thanks,
Greg
