trouble posting photos

sally's sister

New member
OK, This is Ol. Terraplane on the Chesapeake.
I'm finally ready to post some pics to my "album" which is on p. 19..no photos..it says "No Highlights"

I have my photos on my computer.

Pat A. and others told me to go to the album and open it and there would be an icon or words saying "add photos"....i don't find that.

Could someone walk me through the process. I have the pictures ready to go.

Yes, Michael.

I've hit every button there is on the site, and no "add photo" link is there.
Maybe it's my computer or something, don't know.
If any others have ideas, let me know.

Tom,

Assuming you are logged in to the site, when you go to your photo album (link here), you should see the following:

If not, my guess is it has to do with your username. We've had various problems in the past when folks have punctuation in their usernames.

If you don't see the links as in the image above, let's try renaming your account to "sallys sister" - yeah, it's a grammatical error, but we might need to lose the apostrophe.

Bill or mike,

I am having a problem putting photos in a post. When I go a photo in my album and right click and select properties, the url shown is not complete so when I copy and paste the url into a message using the Img tag(before and after the url), the url is not complete and the photo doesn't show in the post.

Is it me or is something wrong?

Is there a tutorial about putting photos in messages?

Thanks,

NancyH,
The reason your having problems is that the length of the name you have given your pictures is so long that it is only showing partical name in the first two lines visable. When you go to copy the url, move your mouse down at the end of the line and the rest of the url will appear and be highlighted so you can copy the entire line.

Example below:

Triple-clicking the URL copies the whole thing, too. Even the part you might not be able to see. Could be you're not clicky enough, but there aren't too many people who knew about triple-clicking until now.

No idea, Steve. I am able to post in your album, so maybe it fixed itself (it really does happen sometimes), Bill fixed it, or your personal poster is busted.

Please don't give up.

Steve,

You might take a closer look at the name of the file and make sure you are only using "normal" alphanumeric characters in the file name. Sometimes that can goof things up. Also make sure there are no dreaded spaces! :)

Thanks for the tips guys, we're IN BUSINESS! Uploaded 1st pic beautifully. Also could have been my puter, de-fragged the disk first time since new 2 yrs ago, then restarted, seems much more lively now. :D
