Trouble Uploading Photos

I need help, though sometimes I seem to be beyond it.

Yesterday and today I tried to upload jpeg files to my album and received the following error message:

Processing status
******Adding docu0263.jpg*****

Resizing/compressing original image
No resizing required
Error: Invalid image: docu0263.jpg
Need help? Look in the Gallery FAQ

When I consult the Help Gallery FAQ it refers me to some Codex/Gallery2 software website. I have not seen this before. Interestingly, the C-Brat Home page documents the recent activity for C-Batical, but no photos are in the album.

I have changed browsers, turned off the Windows firewall to no avail, still the same error message.

What needs to be done?

Are you running a Mac?

I had the same problem a month or so ago after they had an download for upgrades. Iwas running Safari and I still can't upload pictures through Safari so I downloaded Firefox and I can upload through that.

Don't know Rollie, but it caused me to look at all your pictures again. Made me long for soft water no doubt! When Nick gets his generator we can always call him for a jump.

Recently I tried to post a photo. It was a full size picture taken with a 7MP camera. It wouldn't take it until I reduced the size of the picture. I thought it was supposed to automatically resize any picture but I guess not.

How did your Mac problem behave? I am also having trouble with Safari.
When I click on "Add Photos", nothing happens... no popup to select the photo. My evil Windows machine works fine.

Also, from where did you download Firefox? I may go that route.

I have had some trouble loading some pictures, some time. One picture which failed to upload to my album, uploaded fine to Craigs List. Who knows??

Just like you described. Actually, Jim of Wild Blue gave me the heads-up on Firefox. I just Googled "Firefox", went to their site and followed their download instructions - piece of cake.

I still have Safari available, but Firefox seems much faster. The only downside that I noticed is that if I have followed a number of links, when I try to close only the last one, it closes them all and I'm back to my desktop. There are some sites that don't respond to the back button.

Thanks to all who responded to my "calls for help " After returning from day of babysitting my grandkids, it is 12:48 AM and I am on my computer (it is not a Mac) trying out all the suggestions for correcting my inability to upload jpeg files to the C-Brat albums. I down loaded Firefox and I received the same error message. I then transmitted some pictures that I had reduced the file size and it worked using both Firefox and Windows Explorer. Why suddenly the files size is not reduced automatically, I have no idea. In any rate I am back in business and will deal with this minor glitch when I have more time. Thanks again for all the feedback. What a great bunch of people on this site!

My internet connection is somewhat slow, about like dial up and I have found that a large jpg file won't upload to the site.

I now reduce the files to a maximum width of 1000 pixels and then upload them to the site. The site then reduces the files to 800 pixels wide.

I use Internet Explorer to upload.
