Trying to maximis my HP to wieght for Livingston.

I am considering a 6hp Mid 80's johnson but need to get an idea of weight cause ifit's like 80# I might as well go with a 10hp or so, Thanks
 
My 6hp evinrude (just like the johnson) is about 55 pounds. I don't know for sure, but I would think that a ten horse would be considerably heavier for as I remember they were built on the next larger platform and were about 70 pounds.
 
A 9.9 or 15 hp OMc Johnson or Evinrude 2 cycle 1980'2 short shaft (15") weighs 72 lbs, 77 lbs for a long shaft (20').

The OMC 8 hp and 6 hp weigh 56 for the 15, and 58 1/2 for the 20".

Keep all your old catalogues, they're invaluable for reference work!

If you punch in any outboard on N.A.D.A. online , it tells you the weight . The old Nissan/Tohatsu 2 stroke 8s were light and powerful.
