VHF Question

We have a 2009 Lowrance VHF that is great but for some reason this year which started at the Friday Harbour gathering every now and then monitoring 16 it starts beeping and kicks down to channel 2. This last weekend away for 3 days was fine till Sunday afternoon and it happened twice while cruising along. When it does that you cannot control the volume so have to hit 16 again. DON"T KNOW

Sounds like a possible power disruption or a DSC function. Guessing here though. Are all connections firm and corrosion free? The mount Secure? Any change in SWR? Any change in any other function noticed, like transmission quality, or receive? As in broken, scratchy or decrease TX or RX service.

I think I would try a call to Lawrence for tech support. VHF issues are not easy to work out by yourself.
