I recently looked at this place on google earth, where I videoed the bear & fisherman encounter in 2000, while on a road trip in our van & it is now a parking lot. He was yelling for help, but there was not much I could do, but film. Besides at that time, I had a bit of the old early 1800 mountain man view & that's if your going to get yourself in a tight spot you better have the ability to get back out without help.
In the afternoon the fisherman came back with a bow & was trying to take the bear. I followed at a distance thinking I could get some interesting video, either if he got the bear or the bear got him. I guess fortunately for him the bear stayed in the alders appearing just like a mouse going through grass just out of sight.
