To all my friends and family,
A few months ago my aunt Sheila was diagnosed with ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease. She has a type of ALS called "Bulbar ALS" which destroys a person's ability to speak, eat and swallow let alone walk. This disease is devastating, ultimately terminal and there if no cure yet. I cannot do anything substantial on my own - but, I am one of many who are participating in the “Walk to Defeat ALS “ in Portland this month. Many of my family members and I will walk three miles together with my Aunt Sheila to raise money for ALS organization. If you would ...I ask you to help me help my Aunt.
Please click on the link below, then click on "Donate to Susan" and donate $5 (as much as you would spend on a coffee and muffin). I hesitate to ask for donations from my friends. I have Never ask for donations before, but this is personal and I would be so thankful if you could help my Aunt. I am shocked to know two people in my life now who have died of this crippling disease.
The money is used very well. The Walk will raise money to sponsor ALS patient services clinics, support groups, equipment lending, transportation, and leading research efforts. ALS will provide medical equipment to my aunt at no cost to her. You can read her own letter below. Please help me reach my commitment to The ALS Association so they can fund services for people and families impacted by ALS.

Please visit my personal page to make an online donation. Clink on the link below and Click on “Donate to Susan”. If you prefer not to donate on line you can send a check to the organization or me.

Sorry to hear of your aunt's condition. My mother spent three horrific years of progressive paralysis until the end. The stress of being helpless and hopeless was the demise of my father. I am keenly aware of this killer disease, especially since Gulf War veterans (of which I am) are at an increased risk of developing this disease. Thus, I am grateful for and happy to support fund raisers such as this.

WOW...

again the c-brat community is wonderful. who would have thought iI could connect with people here on such a thing and find such kind words and warm wishes. thankyou Moxieabs. I will tell my family of your mother when we walk on sept 26. your generosity is touching.
