Water levels on lake powell

I noticed they have closed down state line. Ramp. Dangling rope marina is. Also closed at least for ice, water and dump. Our plan to spend September on the lake in our 22’ pura vida does not seem like such a good idea anymore. I guess I am hoping someone with more experience on the lake could give an opinion about how the situation might deteriorate even more. As the summer goes on. A side from the limited services and increased competition for limited space, congestion etc how low could it go and will the water quality start to be affected, you know rashes stuff like that. Whadda ya think?

Well, there are places to launch off the beach, especially with a four wheel drive truck. I have seen boats launch at Lone Rock before Wahweap on the way in from Utah. Where there is a will there is a way. Sure would be nice to be alone on the lake. Good hunting on this one or come to Mead and stay with us, pretty sure we will have pipe ramp all summer. What is concerning, is that in "normal" years, by now there is some retention in the lake. That is there is an obligatory discharge--and the input exceeds that, so the water level comes up. This year, the obligatory discharge is not being met, and the amount of run-off (or inflow to the lake) is still decreasing.

Normally the lake level would be increasing. In 2019, the lake was 50' higher by mid July. It does not look as if this is going to happen this year.

I heard a news report today that in Canada, swimming pool builders are swamped with orders. I imagine that in the SW US the situation is similar and combined with a big drought this is bad news for boaters

Wow. Thanks for the info. I've always heard "water will be THE ISSUE in the west". One reason we are reticent to move to AZ. I've also never been to Powell or Mead. Beautiful scenery and it's on the bucket list.
