I am using Safari as a browser and Nortan as securty and I get the header message: "Not Secure--c-brats.com.
This message has been there for a long time. I am not aware of any breeches of security of other negatives from this. Many sites are not "Secure"...but are reasonably safe.
If the Chinese or Russians want to know about my C Dory activity--so be it. I don't see any significant danger of being hacked. I use the VPN from Norton (I have used others) which gives you some degree of safety. Also using a good firewall, virus protection and malware service should make your computer reasonably safe...
The only time I have been hacked was when I was using a less protected computer at a high end hotel in Chicago--it was a royal pain--involving changing all passwords, and upping my level of ID, two require a code number to my I phone before I would be admitted to any site which had financial implications.
I have had lots more problems using credit cards at restaurants (which I never do now).

As long as you don't use the same password for C-Brats as you do for other web sites (and in particular other sites with financial connections), you should be OK. For sites like the C-Brats, I use "throw away" passwords and don't care if the passwords are compromised. For all financial sites, medical records etc., I use a unique and strong password for each site. That's std., good internet practice.

Roger is correct. "Not Secure" in this sense means your web traffic isn't encrypted so if anyone had access to your network (eg you're on public WiFi) they can see what you type - including your password. If you use the same, or similar, password on other sites it would be easy to compromise those accounts.
Although most of what you post on C-brats may not seem sensitive the site really should use encryption. If an attacker captures my password when I'm logging in from public WiFi at a marina, they can then use my C-brats account to send a message to one of you, or to make a post from my account, with a malicious link that compromises your computer when you click on it. Because the message seems to come from me, a trusted fellow C-brat, you feel comfortable clicking the link.

I use Chrome for a browser. I do get a "Not Secure" message on C-BRATS.com. I'm not very computer literate, and don't do a lot, actually hardly any purchasing or financial stuff on my computer. I had advice from my bank that I have used for several years. I use a JetPak to make my own wifi. Only one on it and I get notified anytime a device attaches to it. Seems to be a relatively secure system. But that was started a few years ago.
Hoping it is still pretty safe.

Good point about public Wifi. I don't use them (after the Chicago incident posted above). I either use my I phone (AT & T) as a WiFi spot or a Verizon Jet Pack. I choose Verizon, because they appear to have better access in many areas, plus I can get a monthly plan for $50 which has 25 Gig (and then throttles down).
