China Aviation Industry General Aircraft Co. has purchased Cirrus aircraft Co. in Duluth, Mn.
This company was started in Duluth and before the down turn was produceing over 700 planes per year with over 1000 employees

In 2009 it produced 268 planes with 570 employees. 2010 figures are not out yet. These are $200,000 + planes.

They say no employees will lose their job's and they will stay in Duluth. Ha Ha Ha. :amgry C-Otter Duluthnewstribune.com

Well, they certainly can't support 570 employees on sales of 268 planes @$200,000 ($94k/employee in gross income).

This is terrible news for an already challenging area to live in. :(
 
I don't know when it is going to end--but China has changed their investment stragety. Rather than buying our bonds, they are just buying the industries--the dollar is very "cheap" in comparison to the Yuan.

Consider what has happend in Australia where China has pruchased large companies which control the mining of natural resources.

A bright spot is that there have been some challanges to Chinese purchases. Lets hope that there are more...
 
The $200,000 price is just a starting price, it goes up from their, something like a car. Lots of markup in add ons.

Also the Purple Heart Ass. has a convention this year and the pins they give out are made in China. When asked why not made in USA? Cost China $4.00 ea. USA $10. Go figure. C-Otter
