Winter Battery Care

Last two Winters I have left the batteries in my 22 cruiser with the
battery tender plugged in. All is well in the spring. Am I risking a problem by not pulling the batteries and storing inside? It gets cold here some nights below 0. michael

It seldoms get down to freezing here in marysville but it does get cold. I have not put a charger on my batteries during the winter yet. Where my boat is I dont have power unless I string a power cord across the yard nad thats not a good idea. So what are my choices? will solar work for me in the winter? How do solar panels hold up to the cold?

You’re doing the right thing, same as me. Another boating buddy leaves his in the boat all winter shrink raped at a storage lot; batteries are over 5 years old and still strong.
Our winters are 6 months long, can’t wait for sping!!!!!!
