Ferg, definitely wishing you all the luck I can muster. We have been there. We were away from home when Hurricane Dolly hit. We had our C-Dory in indoor storage, inland. The weather weasels were predicting a "weak Category 1;" Dolly blew in and sat right over our small community as a strong Category 2.
Had the boat been at our house, there would have been significant damage. Indoor storage, away from the coast made a big difference. Yes, that is why we have insurance, but they don't pay you for the time, sweat, and frustration of dealing with repairs.
Just tossing that out there, but I would imagine at this point that indoor storage inland from you is at a big premium right now.
Looking at the activity in the Atlantic right now, there are more coming.
Batten everything down; stake down the boat/trailer (we have tie downs in the concrete if we have to leave anything behind); put down the hurricane shutters if you have them; put important papers in a safe place... then do your best to enjoy your time away.
Hoping for the best for you - it can happen: we had one that was supposed to put us on "the dirty side," and it fizzled out, moved north, and left us on the dry side with no issue. Once.
Good luck,
Jim
