You people are OBSESSED!

...and thank God you are! I stumbled on this site after "discovering" the C-Dory. I do believe that I have found my dream boat in the 22 Cruiser. I spent an entire weekend looking at every single picture in the albums, and read many, many posts about the mods you all have made to your boats, the fun times you have, and I am simply amazed at your loyalty to these boats. It is akin to Harley-Davidson ownership, I guess. A nice, sociable group of folks. I am quite impressed with it all.

Of course, I simply must have one. It will probably be a few years until we can pull it off, though. In four years, we intend to retire from the military on the Washington/Oregon coast somewhere, so we'll wait to get our Dory. Until then, though, I'll continue to lurk in the shadows of this site, learning from all of you and planning what our new boat will be like...I may even ask a question or two from time to time. I'd like to thank each and every one of you for sharing with each other this way...it's wonderful.

Obsessed? Guilty as charged...

Funny you bring up the Harley comparison...just last weekend at Jarrell Cove, the lone Grand Banks at the dock must have felt like he was being invaded by a group of renegades. Sitting on his deck, enjoying a drink, listening to Jimmy Buffet-type tunes, then wham! An invasion of "little boats" over the course of a couple of hours, and he was completely surrounded.

He surrendered unconditionally...

Rick, welcome aboard! There's lots of retired military folks here too, some of us got our love of the water that way (in my case 32 years in the USN, didn't want to make a career of it so I got out), some later, and I think some of the left coasters were born with fins.

There's good info here, lots of fun, help when you need it and sometimes when you don't. Always a blast though, hope you have as much fun as we do!
