Vail CDory 25 at a lower price

Amanda, I don't know if the water tank issue on your boat is a simple fix or a major but.....my neighbour had his water tank leak and it involved cutting the floor of the boat out (not a C-Dory) and replacing the tank and refinishing the floor. The cost was around $8500. My point here is that it...

Scotty Downrigger mounting - gunwale or handrail?

Scott, Sorry I have no pictures but I located my rail mounts just aft of the vertical support in order to be clear of the bimini top support. Keep in mind that the rail mounts are easily moved and no holes need to be drilled in the boat. On cutting the rail aft of the vertical support, I say it...

Scotty Downrigger mounting - gunwale or handrail?

Scott, I have been recently figuring out the downrigger placement question too on our, new to us, CD25. The previous owner had cut and capped the rails just ahead of the middle upright and mounted the base plate for the downriggers on the gunnel about mid cockpit. This, for me, was too far...

    cooler/work table for cd25?

Hi Brats, I would like to make a work table that would be located over the transom well. One that could be used to carry a heavy fish cooler and can be easily removed to allow the outboard to be trimmed up. Has anyone made such a thing and if so are there any pictures out there? Can of you...

    Wallas Stove

That's good to know. I have lived in fear that my wallas will quit someday and nobody nearby knows how to fix them. Could be very costly if a person had to ship the unit away for repairs.........not that local repairs won't be costly too.

    Converting brakes to electric/hydrolic

Dreamer: Thanks for the photo link and the parts link. Glad to hear you are happy having done the conversion. G. Gallagher: Did you go with stainless rotors or the coated steel ones? I see that stainless rotors can be very pricey. Are they worth it? Tom

    Converting brakes to electric/hydrolic

I'm hoping to get some info on converting our EZ Loader trailer, under our CD25, from straight electric brakes as found in other RV trailers (this setup is really poor if the wheels ever touch salt water), to electrically actuated hydraulic brakes. In Canada hydraulic surge brakes are not legal...

    A very Merry Christmas!

Yes....Wishing all Brats a very Merry Christmas as well. We too give to our local food bank this time of year. They held a drive to fill a 53 foot semi trailer with food donations for our local food bank. Well, I am pleased to say that they filled four of them. Enough to fill their shelves for...

    Moving a GPS antenna

Thanks for the great feedback folks. I think I'll try moving the puck inside to the map shelf. Good idea! :D The other good idea was to install a second base for the anchor light on the radar arch. That's what I'll do. Cheers, :beer Tom

    Moving a GPS antenna

I would like to move the puck-like GPS antenna and the anchor light from the front of the cabin roof to the radar arch in order to accommodate our dinghy. As it stands now, they are both in the way. The radar arch is the low one and the dinghy does not fit underneath it so the dinghy must be...

    Nomad Pics

Martin and Andrea, Congratulations! You have a really nice looking boat. I'm sure it will give you much enjoyment. We hope to be able to join you this coming July at your place with all the other brats but we can not commit at this time as it may conflict with an anual fishing trip that I do...

Questions about our "new to us" CD 25 ??

Yes Joe I do own a Dremel tool. Is that what you'd use to rout out the holes? I have all winter to get the project figured out, Then, as you say, the tedious job begins but warm weather is required when working with epoxy so I won't be doing anything soon. I like to find out all I can and...

Questions about our "new to us" CD 25 ??

Joe: As always, thanks for your input. I have been doing some reading on the warranty subject and it sure is vague. I know it is a long shot but I thought I'd ask. Greg: That is good to hear. Thanks. I will keep my fingers crossed that mine will be fine as well. Cheers, Tom

Questions about our "new to us" CD 25 ??

On the matter of holes not being sealed...............it is too late in the year to check each hole for rot and seal them now but I intend to do it in the spring when it warms up. If I do find rot.....is that a warrenty issue? If so, what is the process for getting the work done? There are a...

Questions about our "new to us" CD 25 ??

Thanks folks for all your input. Things are becoming clearer. One thing that I am not totally clear on is the core material in the hull and transom. Localboy says it is pink foam. Others refere to the balsa core. Does anyone else out there with a 2008 CD25 know what is in there? Cheers :beer Tom

    Happy New C-dory Owner

Congrats Glen on the purchase of a 22 cruiser. You'll love it. We loved ours. Rickdid say there was someone else interested in his 25 but he mentioned no names. We had been looking for a 25 for some time and they are not plentyfull in this local so we jumped on the local one after a failed...
