    HAPPY THANKSGIVING

Warm wishes to all for a Happy Thanksgiving! C for Two is sitting in the yard for the winter, but I'm thankful to have her and to be looking forward to the next boating season. I'm also thankful to finally have a photo album (since I finally thought to ask for one), and thought it was really...

    Custom canvas is finished!

That looks terrific! You've about doubled the size of your boat :thup . I'll be looking forward to seeing what you come up with for the motor well, to keep the bugs out.

Count me among those who are relieved to hear this. Trolling for controversy is never fun for anyone but the troll.

picking a new dog in the future

Since our boat was new last summer we took our 2 dogs (40# and 65# mixes) out only a couple of times, but based on that I'd say that smaller and non-shedding would be good  . (Even so, I'll probably take them boating again next summer!) As a former dog trainer and a long-time shelter...

    Our first season is over

Thanks, Rick. I think I'm going to use a tarp this year with maybe a combination wooden framework and PVC pipes. If the snow load is too heavy or the tarp rips in the wind  , I'll switch to shrink wrap next year. A calm winter would be nice. Fingers crossed! Thanks, everyone, for...

    Our first season is over

Dan, do you store your boat indoors or out?

    Our first season is over

Thanks, Jim and Jay. Winter always comes whether we're ready or not. I've seen shrink wrap jobs that included a little door to get in and out of the boat, but always assumed that was kind of pricey. Anyone know a ballpark figure for that kind of arrangement?

    Our first season is over

We'll be hauling C for Two tomorrow and bringing her home for the winter. Summer seemed way too short, and already I can't wait for spring! I'm debating whether or not to get shrink wrap, or just use a tarp. Does it matter? Opinions/suggestions are welcome, with thanks.

    Boatyard charges

We just recently hit the 20 hour mark too. We hauled the boat ourselves and delivered it to the boat yard, had them change the oil and put the boat back in the water (which they said would cost $3 per foot, but the bill indicates they charged $4.50). Here's the itemization that arrived in the...

C-Dory Factory Survey - Take Two

The dealership owner (Y-Landing) has sent a reimbursement check to cover the entire cost of the repair to the gas lines. He also sent a nice apology, so right now I'm feeling better about the boat and the dealer's support. I must add that we are enjoying the heck out of this boat. Once I...

    A question for sailors ...

... and former sailors. As I recall there are several C-Dory owners on this site who used to own sailboats. A neighbor who is a long-time sailor saw my 22' Cruiser last night for the first time, and commented "That's the kind of power boat a sailor would buy." He meant it, and I took it, as a...

    Garmin 4208

Can't remember if what I had was the same Garmin model, but I had to return it because the wires wouldn't fit through the radar arch. The wire was split, with plastic on each of the two ends, and that made the whole thing too big. Not sure if that is a concern for you, or if the model you're...
