    Poor Handling

Cislander, You're getting some great advice from folks who run their dory's everyday in a variety of sea conditions. Give your boat a chance to win you over and you'll find that she will never let you down. In your dory, you'll find that the larger the swells and wind waves get, the better...

    Cool tool

Great tool indeed. I've owned one for about ten years and have used it mainly for emergency hose clamp repairs (works like a champ with stainless wire).

    Buddy's boat

We owned an Olympic 26XLF from 1996-2000 and found it to be the best boat we have ever owned (considering all trade-offs in boats). It was a superb handling boat in all sea conditions and provided excellent fuel economy 3mpg @ 28mph. The 26 Olympics had a 13 degree deadrise, providing an...

Stowing and Using generator on a CD25

Mike, I'm most interested in the sink in the head area of Tyboo. Did you put it in and if so, where did you get the sink and the mount?

    Diesel fuel relative pricing

I vote with Mike and Martin on this one. Think back to when diesel prices jumped suddenly and it parallels the ULSD requirement of 15 PPM of sulfur. ULSD in Europe and everywhere but the USA have a 50 PPM of sulfur standard. It is my understanding that the additional refining cost of 15 PPM...

Ocean Salmon Season Setting Process Begins for California

You're all right, the CCA originated on the East coast in 1978 ( I was referring to the West coast chapters only). Secondly, I and most others respect highly the work of biologists to grow the resource (the pay is not that great and you take allot of abuse from user groups and the government)...

Ocean Salmon Season Setting Process Begins for California

Lloyds, You and I are on the same side, the CCA is a sport fishers group started on the West Coast by Gary Loomis about four years ago . It is now about 10,000 strong and growing fast and their main objective is to grow the resource and make sure that we sport fishers get a fair piece of the...

Ocean Salmon Season Setting Process Begins for California

These fisheries are not managed, only the fishers are managed. There is no reason to fish an endangered run of fish in their spawning stream. If there is a problem with the resource, shut it down until the run can sustain fishing pressure. This is a game in CA,OR, and WA to maintain revenue...

Ocean Salmon Season Setting Process Begins for California

Makes you wonder why they had a Sacramento River season opener last 11/1-12/31 2008. Go Figure? Maybe that's why the return was lower?

    Suzuki and E-Tec detail question

Steve, Our boat is docked on "D-6" almost directly behind Shearwater and I can say without hesitation that any Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki, or Mercury would remain rust free after five years in your care. Your boat always shows as new. So, don't worry about a repower choice, any selection will...

Hull Speed of CD25 - Economy - Range - Kind of Rambling!

Pat, I don't know if this helps but we have a BF 20 as an auxiliary on our boat and it burns about 1 gal/hr at WOT which is in line with what the Honda Rep. told us at the SBS this year. We use our motor as an emergency unit and for Salmon trolling in the open ocean. Our main engine is a 245...

    Need to Re-caulk Cockpit Floor

FYI, When I replaced the adhesive around the fish hold on our 25 CD (04 model) I called the factory and was told that they used a Bostic product. Since I was'nt familiar with that brand and had good results with 3M 5200, that's what I used. Hope this helps, removing that stuff and preparing...

    Online discount marine stores?

Word of caution, use care when ordering from Fisheries Supply online. Last week, I placed an order with them and was overcharged on both the order and the quoted shipping charge. I notified them of the errors but so far, they've not made it right. This is just my one-time experience with...

    2004 25 Cruiser, $85,000 (Gig Harbor, WA)

FYI, Peter is right, C-Time (Scooter) was custom built for us and delivered through EQ on 4/30/04. The boat had many one-of-a kind features for that time such as: fresh water sea land head, storage trays in the berth area, an oversized fish box with macerator pump out( I fit in it at 6'2'' and...

    C-80 problem

David, I think that there are two speed inputs, one from your triducer and one from the Raystar 125. You can calibrate the triducer reading to somewhat match the Raystar but they will seldom display an exact match due to the difference in the update speeds. Jerry

    CD-25 (Scooter) becomes (C-Time)

Ray- Thanks for the Halibut trip offer. I have a long time friend who usually fishes the early opener (D-7 at Newport) but hey his boat is not a C-Dory. Larry- It would be good to see you again. I still remember when you took delivery of the "Helen O" at Sportcraft, your excitement was so...

Ray- Thanks for the offer to share your knowledge of Suavie Island. I know that Ernie and Rose are perusing this post and appreciate your input and will respond soon. It was nice meeting you at Newport this past summer.

    CD-25 (Scooter) becomes (C-Time)

Ken- Thanks for the info. Ernie and Rose are fine folks and will complement this group well. We enjoyed following your thread on the insulation goo, sound like spray in stuff might be the best way to go.
