    Florida Keys, Winter 2013

Just reserved a slip for Skimmer at Boca Chica Marina on Naval Air Station Key West for the first two weeks in February. I'm a little anxious about towing all the way from No. Va. to Key West but looking forward to exploring the Lower Keys and to seeing some other C-Brats down there.

    Buying a C-Dory

Here's my input on this topic from three years ago. After three additional seasons on the 25, I'm even more sure that the 25 is right for us. I spend a lot of nights aboard and appreciate the extra room. We had a 22 for one season and loved it, though we felt a little cramped when spending...

    09/21 - 09/23 - 6th annual NC Gathering

Had a great time: nice facility (tho' Sat. night was a bit bumpy in the slip), fun run to Beaufort, and pleasant company the whole time. Thanks to Gene and Carrie for joining us and answering lots of boat questions, to Bill and others for help at the ramp, and especially to Erma and Ernie...

Places to dock and explore in Chesepeake

Bill mentioned Rock Hall. He's probably thinking of this place: http://www.watermanscrabhouse.com/home/ Good food, handy slips with a kid on the dock to take lines, and the clientele are a fun mix of boaters, bikers, and locals. There'll be a crowd, but it's a big place that handles crowds...

    C-Dory Sightings

Saw an Angler (blue or grey?) headed out of the Choptank River below the Rt 50 bridge yesterday. She motored past the crowd anchored to watch the hydroplane races. Tried to hail her but no response.

    05/18 - 05/21 - Carolina Loop May 2012

Great trip! Thoroughly enjoyed it, even the rained-in day in Coinjock. Many thanks to Dick for getting us organized and leading the flotilla, to Art for the photo op at Dismal Swamp, and to everyone else for the great company. I look forward to future adventures with the group.

    Chesapeake suggestions

I95 crosses the very top of the Bay at Havre De Grace, MD. That port is within reach of rivers, creeks and anchorages on the Upper Bay. Check this out for info on any of the places mentioned in these responses: http://www.amazon.com/Guide-Cruising-Ch ... 1884726178

    Caroline Loop 2nd Time

Here's a vote for the weekend of 5/25-28 (Memorial Day). Too early to commit firmly, but that weekend looks good, and we've wanted to do this trip for some time.

    OPSAIL 2012

Here's the site: http://www.opsail2012virginia.com/ The "Boater Info" page isn't up yet, but should be helpful when updated. It would be great to have some kind of C-Dory presence there if some C-Brat has the time/skills to get us organized.

Baltimore C-dorys? Boating on Chesepeak bay, property.

Be sure to look for info on this site about the annual C-Dory rendezvous at Lankford Bay. It's fun and should be very instructive for C-Brats new to the Bay. Hope to see you there.

Baltimore C-dorys? Boating on Chesepeak bay, property.

If you haven't ever seen it, check this out - great rag on Chesapeake boating: http://www.chesapeakeboating.net/ Here's a good place for service; used to be the C-dory dealer on the Bay; always treated us well. http://www.cuttermarineinc.com/ Also, I leave my C-Dory in the water all year...

    Constant overheating alarm

Having the same problem with my 2008 150. Alarm has come on when decelerating quickly from about 4500 rpm. Engine shuts itself down after about 20 seconds. I've been able to restart in a minute or two, and limp back to my slip at about 14kts. with no recurrrence. Water coming out of peehole...

    New C-Dory Owner

Hi neighbor and welcome aboard. Congrats on the new boat - you'll love it. We live in Fairfax, work in Manassas, and keep Skimmer in Solomons, MD. Hope to see you on the Bay sometime.

    C-Dory 25 vs C-Dory 22

Glen, There are a couple of threads on this topic that you may want to look up. Here's my $.02 worth: We had a 22 for one season and loved it, though we felt a little cramped when spending weekends aboard. Then we got a deal we couldn't refuse on a 25 and traded up. After two seasons , no...

    HURRICANE IRENE

In Solomons, MD (Patuxent River) pulled Skimmer onto her trailer and parked her on high, dry, and hopefully safe ground. High clouds ahead of Irene gave us a sunset worthy of Arizona. A friend in NC told me that when Jim Cantore shows upon your beach with a TWC crew , it's time to buy...

    The Worlds Ending!!!

Re: whether you can feel a 5.8 quake. I happened to be on Skimmer in her slip in S. Maryland when I heard banging outside. Looked out to see the pier and pilings banging against the port side. Thought it was the mother of all wakes until I saw all the pilings in the marina waving like reeds...
