    Water Intake on TC24

The pick up on my TC24, is in the same place as yours. Mine is only for the head though. The biggest problem I had with it where it is, is that it required me to install a valve next to the toilet(for convienence). When we were running in chop, the water level in the bowl would raise and...

    Aluminum outboard backing plates

BTT Just a shamless bump. I found the grooved models from T&H(?) marine, but I'm holding out.

SO WHAT DID YOU DO WITH OR ON YOUR C-DORY TODAY??

I had the drum brakes removed from the trailer, and had Kodiak disc put back on the original axle, as well as the other. The shop added the little solenoid that hooks to the backup lights on the truck, to lock out the brakes when backing up. Gordon

    Aluminum outboard backing plates

I have a name for it now anyway. :D Thankyou. I have a fertile imagination, so I have to be careful, but I pretty sure the ones I saw already had the logo on the plate. When I saw them(or think I saw them  , it was like they'd been cast in a mold.

    Aluminum outboard backing plates

Their out there somewhere. It's no big deal, I just thought a little boat bling in the splash well would be nice. 8) I didn't think spreading the load out could hurt either. The ones I saw were nice looking, with rolled edges etc, and the Honda was raised on the face.......I think?????.....it's...

    Oops

It may have come off the truck when he broke over the top of the ramp to back down. His usual routine may have been to get close to the water, then unhook the transom straps and bow from the trailer. He probably just had time to go for the boat as it rolled into the water........but then, what...

    Aluminum outboard backing plates

I saw some really spiffy backing plates for outboards, that go on the inside of the transom, and have either Honda or other brand of motor stamped on them. I can swear I saw them here, but it's been awhile back. Anybody familiar with these? Anybody have a link maybe? Thanx, Gordon

    Tomcat owners: winter projects

Good luck with the work in the bottom of the sponson. I've got one of the 24's, and had to reattach the wires to the bilge pump and switch in the starboard side recently. It was a one handed operation. The factory, or whoever rigged it originally, didn't tie the wires up after making...

    Old engine varnish

Seafoam. We had problems getting the boat in the water for awhile, and had one motor start popping and sputtering. The seafoam cleared it up. They recommend getting it into the carb via the fuel system, and when it starts to smoke, shut the motor off for abit.....15 to 30 minutes. Then start...

Urgent help needed -- New outboard trim gauge not working

The little levers that control the sending units have stuck in place several times on my Honda 90's. Once you find them, and get them freed up, it's a good idea to shot a little silicone on them from time to time. I try and remember to check them before putting the boat in the water. Gordon

    Outboard Engine Covers

I have covers for my Honda's. I like em. The mud-daubers build their nest between the cover and the cowl, instead of inside the cowl when I leave the covers off. I've never had an issue with condensate. They don't fit that tightly, and I always wait until the motors have cooled down, and or...

    Portable Air Conditioner

Hi Bill, I recieved good feed back regarding the quality of the Mermaid unit when I posted for info on another site. I'm pretty sure this is the direction I will go when the time comes. If I remeber correctly, several places bragged that the eu1000 would work fine for the lowest two sizes(5k...

Thataway's Bob Under The Bright Lights/Blade

Bob I wish you and Marie the best, and hope that a solution presents itself in the near future. Your in our hearts and prayers. However, since your going to be stuck in the area for awhile and it looks like we'll finally be putting some water under the boat on a more regular basis, if you'll PM...

    Cabinet hinges

Thanks for the link Bob. The aft boxes are pretty similar. When I was looking at yours last year, we talked about the Genny being to tall to sit in the aft compartment on yours. Mine was 15 inches and I needed 17. I came across some Spanish Cedar at an irresistable price, and I'm using that for...

    Cabinet hinges

I'm looking for a source for corrosion resistant concealed cabinet hinges. I'm reworking the lid to the storage area, in the cockpit of my TC24. I'm raising the seat area to make room for storing an eu2000 inside. The factory screwed a regular hinge on top of the lid, and screwed it to the...

    Portable Air Conditioner

The 5000 BTU unit that I measured(frigidare) at the Best Buy in Pcola would slide into an opening 16 1/2 inches. The outside of the housing, was only about 16 1/4 inches.

    Permatrim Hydrofoils

If you have twins, you can get lateral trim as well as fore and aft. just trim one motor different then the other to fix whatever needs it. The Permatrims will allow you to bring the bow up because of their location, and the ability for water to flow around them. When the Trim Tabs reach the...

Cockpit light for a 22' Cruiser

I used a couple of flush mount 2 1/2 inch lights that throw about 80% of the light down.(Perko chrome plated brass trims. The lenses have lines thru them like polarization that deflects the light down) I mounted them low enough so they wouldn't throw light over the back of the gunwale. They...
