    Trailers for Classics

Roger; Thanks for getting back to me, I don't think King is sold up here in Canada. I'll start watching the Seattle boating section in Craigslist for possible used ones. Any other sources you might recommend in Washington State? Tnx, Jimbo

    Trailers for Classics

I am trying to find a tandem axel trailer for my 1981 Classic and have been told I'm not allowed to sell the farm for it, which means used. I'd have a hard time putting a brand new trailer under a 1981 boat anyways.... The original single axel that I got with the boat was stolen over the...

    HOLY NIP-N-TUCK BOATMAN......

Good looking project. I am curious about something though. It looks like you have cut the stern for your motor well. Did you consider a Armstrong bracket or something similar? I realize that you are already extending your cockpit a lot and probably don't need the extra space. Just wondering Jimbo

    01/21 - 01/23 Seattle Boat Show/C-Brat Gathering

blindbaybob; I wouldn't be making plans to come to Vancouver for the boat show, don't think its going to happen this year as our BC Place Stadium doesn't have a roof on it. I haven't even seen anything in the local papers about a floating boat show..... your only "fix" this year will be the...

    Cheap cabin heat...Mr. Heater propane?

I tried one but it was so sensitive to shutting off with any kind of tipping that I gave up on it and put in a force ten which works great. I guess you could build a gimbal for it.... Jimbo

A Tale of Two Heads (with apologies to Charles Dickens)

I installed an airhead toilet in our cabin this spring as there isn't enough room for a septic field. We are the only ones in a group of 9 cabins with indoor plumbing, everybody wants to know where we got it, the women don't care how much, they just want one. It has worked great, on the airheads...

    Classic 22'

icewater Sounds good Do you have trim tabs on the boat? If you do, you will use them, if you don't, I would highly recommend them. Our dead flat bottoms don't like chop at all, with the trim tabs you can get the bow down into the water, fuel consumption takes a beating but the smother ride is...

A little more power would have been nice.

I went from a 1988 88hp 2 stroke Johnson to a 2009 115 4 stroke Mercury. Fuel consumption is better than half, when going up to our cabin I can cruise at 4000 RPM and do 25 kts with 2 of us in the boat. WOT is 5500 RPM and just over 32knts. I have carried 7 or 8 people and their gear up to the...

    Classic 22'

icewater I'd be curious to see what your hull # is. I also have a 22' 1981 "Hunky Dory". I'm surprised nobody here has made a comment about your lack of front rail. Next to mine, your's is the only other boat I've seen without one. Jimbo

    Spray from the Kicker

When I bought the boat it had a 1988 outboard that produced a lot of spray. That motor finally gave up the ghost this spring and I repowered with a new four stroke. I mentioned the spray issue to my mechanic and what he noticed was the old motor cavitation plate was lower than the bottom of the...

    fuel problem 70hp johnson outboard

Not sure what kind of tanks you have but as was just stated, check to make sure your vent is open. For some reason on one of my tanks I have had to crack the actual filler cap open to get enough air into the tank. Jimbo
