90hp Suzuki shuts down at idle

My 90hp Suzuki is shutting down when idling after we run it to the marina from Bear Island. Makes docking a challenge. Marina mechanic can't seem to fix the problem. Also, he reports gas in oil. This is a 2005 model with many hours. Anyone have a clue?

    Repowering a 22 classic

Our 2005 22 classic came with a 90 hp Suzuki, which now has 1400 hrs. No problems at all. Changed fuel lines a couple of years ago. Gets 4-5 mpg. We troll for salmon and trout in Winnipesaukee.

    Wallas stove question

Doug, we have always started our engine before starting the stove, and so far we have had absolutely no problems. The Wallas stove came with our 2006 C-Dory here on Lake Winnipesaukee, and it keeps us warm in early spring and late autumn.

We always have the engine running before starting the stove on our 2005 22 cruiser. So far, so good!

What Options would you like on a New 22 cruiser

Definitely include radar, depth finder and GPS for foggy mornings, especially on Lake Winni. After a few adjustments, our 2005 Raymarine C70 and radar have been quite adequate for our needs. By the way, our Wallas stove/heater has never failed. It has come in very handy on cold mornings. We...

    Freeze damage

Had to replace rear bilge pump hose on my CD22. It had cracked, but not from freezing. Mechanic said exposure of a section of pipe to direct sunlight over the years had caused the cracking. The 2005 CD22 has two bilge pumps--a good idea, imho.

    Wallas Redux

Bought my CD22 in 2006 with Wallas Stove. So far, so good! We use it in early spring and late autumn as a heater only. Also run only filtered kero, start/stop on high setting, and never turn off master battery switch while the fan is still running.

    Do I really need Radar?

I agree. Radar has twice enabled me to avoid collisions at night with (other) careless fishermen.

How did you fare in the East Coast storm?

Kelly Lynn, our camp is in the cove behind Shepard's Island, #323 Bear. We usually make a run in Mikey to Y Landing every morning, May through October.

How did you fare in the East Coast storm?

After closing the camp on Bear Island, we put Mikey up for the winter at Y Landing Marina in Meredith, NH, before the storm hit. Then we had our neighbor drive us to Manchester for our flight back to Georgia on Oct. 30. Our neighbor stayed on at Bear and reports that electric power never went out!

    HURRICANE IRENE

All's well on Lake Winnipesaukee as of 4 pm Sunday, except that phone landlines are out, power is out on some islands (mine included) and cable is out all over the area. Glad to have my generator and Internet connection. And if I had to go to the mainland, I am very glad to have my 22' C-Dory...

    Learning The Hard Way

Totally agree!! Too many marina operators are out just for the almighty dollar and not for good service. My marina owner is supposed to look over my engine before launching, but last season we had a fuel line burst inside the cowl while underway. I had pointed out the deteriorating line outside...

    Learning The Hard Way

This particular marina services my boat before storing it for the winter--lubing lower unit, draining water, cleaning hull bottom, and "other service as needed to insure spring start up." Last season they replaced a cracked bilge hose and a faulty trim piston. They also have had to trouble...

    Learning The Hard Way

What should I expect from my marina for annual maintenance? Last season the fuel line inside the cowl burst while we were underway. I had pointed out a year earlier that my external line and primer bulb were looking bad.
