Recreational Boaters Association of Washington (RBAW)

We are members of RBAW and the Northwestern Boating Council(NBC), and both are great. The costs are low ,and using the discounts from the merchants that support them ,it pays to belong. NBC is the one that raised money from several boat clubs to install a flagpole at Blake Island State Park...

    05/13 - 05/15 - Friday Harbor CBGT

Barry , Laurie and I will certainly be at Friday Harbor . I don't know how I missed signing up at the beginning of the posts.... Senior moments.. We had this planned with days off from work back in January. Needless to say I will have my vestments and proper scripts for those wishing a C-Dory...

    New from Ranger Tug

Forrest, Good eyes.. My Admiral, Laurie,(who should be hired as quality control at a huge salary for Ranger) pointed out that gunnel seam you mentioned to John Livingston. He said that they had only got the cockpit end piece put on the day before the move-in at the boat show, so it was not...

    Is owning a 22 AND a 16 too decadent?

The are some C-Brats that do have a 16 to go along with their 22 or 25. Won't name names ,but IMHO it isn't too decandent to hae 2 C-Dorys

    Boat for Lake superior

My $.02, A 22 Cruiser would be a great choice for your needs . If getting a new one you can opt for a Wallas Stove /Heater unit. Our experience has been good with both of our Wallas equipped C-Dorys ,but there is a thread here that debates all the heater issues. Used boats may very well come...

    C-Dory Trawler on craigslist

We personally know the owners of this boat and it is indeed a Marben, and yes Pat it is 7 knot boat. Needless to say the owners are retired so 7 knots is retired speed. The reason they are selling is unfortunately age related(them not the boat). They are going to be "landyachting"so the boat...

27' CDory for sale... Portland Craig's List

Tom, it did look like the old "cowboy" 27. but that price was a killer. No wonder it sold or was stolen fast. what a buy!!

New combination VHF radio, AIS reciever/Hailer

I like the topic...also looked over the "AIS in the house" topic.. We got our Standard Horizon AIS/VHF this summer and after a lot of wiring headaches got it working with our GPS antenna , it has worked great... I don't see a need for the fancy stuff. It was my understanding that the CG and...

    Kudos to Triton marine

I am like Pat on this one. It is nice to see that the craftsmanship is back in good hands . So far so good, and also agree with Jerry & Helen too. The C-Dory World would spin steadier if EQ was back in the fold.

    I'm usually not political but...

I have to put in a word to the Kitsap County residents. There is a fellow boater that is running for State Representative. His name is Pete DeBoer. He is a member of the Kingston Cove Y.C., and like a lot of us in Washington would like to see some representation of boaters in Olympia. The...

    Joining the C-Dory's

We welcome you folks also. In looking at others past experiences and ours a C-Dory is the one boat(in it's size range) you do want to be in when in the big water or it gets rough. So congrats on your new boat and welocme to the Family.

    C D 14

Greg, The pic you found of the red 14 was at the SBS. 2004 I think... It was sitting under the bow of the one-off 34'Olympic that the old C-Dory regime built. IMHO, they should have spent the money building 14's instead of the 34...like about 25-14's =1-34'. They could have sold the 14's...

SO WHAT DID YOU DO WITH OR ON YOUR C-DORY TODAY??

We just got back from Flathead Lake, Montana. Only 4 days earlier than planned ,but we were dissappointed with the continual roughness of the lake and the inability to sleep due to the constant punding. It is a beautiful setting, but not our cup of water. We are going to rest up at home and...

    Port of Allyn, WA

We've been to Allyn a few times and the city dock is very nice to tie up to and wander into the shopping ,eating areas. Leonard's is a fun place to eat, have a few adult beverages , and the chainsaw carving -gift shop is fun to visit.

    South Sound points of interest

Got ya Pat, I didn't realize there was a Blakely at Bainbridge I guess. I was just know of the Blakely in the San Juans.. too many Blakes and Blakelys. Kind of like too many Clear Lakes and Silver lakes in WA.

    South Sound points of interest

I am late getting this one Russ & Toni, but no one said much about the South Sound. So I will speak up for the South Sound as you make your way up from Swantown. Along the east coastal side and you can view the fancy new golf course on the water near Robbi's Digs , McNeil Island Prison on the...

    wheel bearings

I'll chime in. One of the reasons to remove the hub is to inspect the bearings and surfaces for wear and tear. You pre-lube them by " packing" them with grease and reinstalling . The bearing buddies do not replace the action of packing the bearings , but their job is to maintain the lube...

    C-Dory Sightings

More from our Brownsville visit ! Met Ken & Jane launching their 2008 Blue 25' . So needless to say , I introduced myself and we chatted about C-Brats. Jane has been on the site here but not sure if she signed up. I welcomed them to the family and to come to any or all the gatherings . They got...
