    ALONE IN CENTRAL FLORIDA?

I was just at the boat show in St Petersburg and talked with the manager of a marina in St Pete. The have a floating dock 400' long with water & electric for transients at a cost of a little less then $2 a ft per nite. This is located near the airport and walkable to central ave, about 5...

    insurance rates/policy

Most marine insurance specifies the waters for operation, when we got our C-Dory last year, Boat US quoted us a VERY high rate, ended up getting it with Allstate (all my other insurance is with them) and they charged me $316 a year and cover the entire USA. :dog

Single bunk used as a seat?

Just solved this problem.... using a "Knob Hatch Fastener" from West Marine, page 582, item M, $19.99 in their 2005 catalog. Just fasten the screw part to the stern leaf of the table, as far forward as possible. The latch part to the side of the cabin. Works great! Quote fixed by Da Nag

Question For Warm Climate C-Dory Owners...

James, having just survived one of the hottest summers in Florida's recent history, I can tell you that our C-Dory with an aft bimini is a vast improvement over our 22' Chris Craft walk around in the summer sun and heat. With all windows and hatches open, it's quite comfortable without air...

    Welcome to the C-Brats!

I just finished scanning the member list on the C-Brat and CDog sites in newest member date joined order. I sent personal Emails of welcome to each member located here in Florida that joined in last 3 months, BUT................ I was surprised at how many members join but fail to provide...

NO MORE!!!"Pinholes" leaking water into dinette st

I agree with C-Otter, that a little caulking at time of manafacture would have prevented this problem and saved everyone some grief not to mention $$$$$ Back in the days of wooden boats "everything" got bedded in. NOW HERE'S A THOUGHT......the C-Dory has a balsa cored hull, etc; has...

    weight down the road

Alma..... on automatic transmissions, there's a certain amount of slippage in the torque converter in the lower gears, but in top gear the tranny "locks" up to eliminate the slippage and thus improve the gas mileage. On many tranny's the position just below drive, usually "3" does not lock up...

    Google Ads

Da Nag this post may show up twice, 1st one seemed to have disappeared. Seems to me that C-Dory has profited from both this site and the other one, and benefited from the favorable word of mouth they have generated and probably couldn't buy this much advertising good will if they tried. My...

    weight down the road

Jennykatz....... I'm towing my 22 Cdory Cruiser loaded full gas & water with my Jeep Cherokee with a 5,000 lb tow package..... does real fine. Have to tow in "3", not "drive", but both 3 & drive both "lock up". Last trip up to Crystal River for service, went up on 19, a lot of stop and go and...

    ALONE IN CENTRAL FLORIDA?

BigDog, as soon as you can find a location, need to poll the member via a newly created thread such as "Florida Gathering" to see how many people may attend. You may want to do that now already so you have a rough idea how much dock space is needed. At the Cheasapeake gathering Tom was hoping...

    ALONE IN CENTRAL FLORIDA?

BigDog.... let them know that we're interested and would plan on attending, but keep in mind that June is the Chesapeake Bay gathering and we'll be in Maryland for that hopefully. Does the dealer have a site/membership in the Brats, do they monitor it?

    C-Dory sighting and ice

Mason..... interesting, but where are you talking about as your profile doesn't say where you're located.... I haven't seen ice in ages. When I had my cedar hulled Richardson, had to be very careful of ice, especially the "skim" ice as it would cut the hull like a razor. How does the C-Dory...

    GPS Evaluation

Thanks for all the input  I've pretty well decided on the Lowrence "LCX-26C Hard Drive Recording Sonal/GPS". Boater's World in store price is $1,449.99 plus tax and Broken Leg Dave's internet price is $1,234, no tax, no shipping. Done business before with Dave so you know the answer :D

    Smoking on a C-Dory

I use to smoke but quite about 15 years ago. I don't know anything about be alergic to smoke, but can tell you that it can be a trigger for asthma suffers. I've got asthma pretty bad and have to stay well upwind of any smoke. Don't try to preach about the evils of smoking,.... just try to...

    New to the group

JRad.... welcome to the group..... we've had our 22C C-Dory for a year not and put in at John's Pass (Veteran's Memorial Park Ramp). Previous boat was a 22' Chris Craft deep V, and I'll take the C-Dory any day and sea condition! The Chris had to do 25MPH to stay on plan, the CDory will plan as...

    GPS Evaluation

OK, I know most of you "Brats" have a GPS, but I've only gotten 2 responses so far and appreciate them. I'm pretty well set on a Lowrence 6600C, but not sure if I should get the one with a Hard Drive or not. Saturday coming home, the bay was quite calm, but had 20MPH, the little waves set up...

    06/02 - 06/04 - Lankford Bay Marina, Eastern Shore

The closer you get the slower it gets. Last year we went over the Chesapeake Bay Bridge to avoid the Washington traffic. From the Virginia side on up it was slower going. We overnighted just south of the bridge before we got to Norfolk and from there made it to Langsford by mid afternoon

    slip reservations?

:smileo Tom, sorry about that, I forgot that minor detail. :smilep I had recalled your saying how many slips might be needed etc but forgot that we had to call to make a deposit....... Should we be sending/calling for a deposit now already or wait until after the first of the year. In the...
