Another arc at the shore power plug

A trick I've heard of for dealing with screws in fiberglass to prevent cracking- After drilling the hole, get a larger bit and with the drill going in reverse, run the larger bit over the hole. It takes off some of the gel coat, and is supposed to help with spider cracks.

Choice of kicker size for a 22' Cruiser?

At this time the Suzuki does not have power tilt available. I expect that to be an option in the future, especially when the very similar 9.9 High Thrust does have it. However, there were many small upgrades from the older 15 and the new 15, even though they look very similar. One item we...

Choice of kicker size for a 22' Cruiser?

The C-Dory hull shape is definately a variable in the equation, as it is a more easily driven hull. Actual performance numbers would be enlightening, especially at full throttle. I've talked to a lot of kicker buyers who figure if 9.9 is good, 15 must be better, which isn't always the case. I'd...

Choice of kicker size for a 22' Cruiser?

Couple of thoughts- While 15 is overkill, and 8 is plenty, you might consider Suzuki's new fuel injected 15. At around 105 pounds it is very light weight for a 15, and fuel injection is a no brainer in today's E10 world. A note about current: Hull speed is the theoretical speed a boat can...

    Any cause for concern?

It looks pretty normal for a low use, four year old boat. Looks like the paint was professionally done, and done well. The hard modified epoxy paints will lose effectivness with age, but will look good for years. It won't look all shiney like gel coat, but the boat was obviously used in salt...

    Sandy aftermath- the boats

I am always amazed at what boats look like post storm, and even wonder about what it would take to get some of them back into running condition. Because obviously somebody buys the salvage vessels. I wonder how many of them ever see the water again? One of my guilty pleasures is to peruse the...

    Regarding a Cover for a Venture 23

I don't have any drawings, but the 23 Venture is wider by almost half a foot and longer as well as having a completely different cabin top. I don't think any dimensions are going to match up in any meaningful way.

    Cost of new C-Dory 22

I think part of the problem with C-Dory is the same issue that Arima had- the new boats are unchanged from the boats made 5 years ago. Other than color or minor differences in trim. So one can buy a boat a few years old, and save tens of thousands. Or buy an older boat, repower and be in it...

    Unimetrics

Our owners were in the herring business years ago, and when the recording depth sounders came out they were amazing equipment. When passing over a herring bait ball the machine would go nuts and start darkening the thermal paper. The owners brother used to joke that the smell of the machine was...

    Unimetrics

Neat old unit. But I'm afraid there isn't any value to it. It's like having a loran c receiver- worthless, even if I still see them offered once in awhile. I suppose some collector (does anyone collect old electronics?) might see some value, but I can't imagine you'd get enough to cover your...

    Ordering Parts for 2006 25'

Triton Marine Supply is not related to C-Dory. In fact theer are a number of companies named Triton in the industry- I think it was a mistake to use the name Triton when the company reorganized / reformed because of the confusion it would cause. You want Triton Marine Industries-...

Is this the right seat configeration for a 2007 CD 16'?

No. This was not a factory option. If you look closely at the first image you referenced, you can see that the seat base has been cut to match the raised floor section under the hardtop. It may be a very well done modification, it may be professionally done. No way of knowing by the picture.

Is this the right seat configeration for a 2007 CD 16'?

That is not the factory set up for a C-Dory 16, but it looks like someone has customized one with those seats.

    Old gas in tank

Make sure you have a good fuel / water seperator filter between the tank and the motor. If all the old gas was replaced you may still have some residue on the tank walls. When you add new gas, it may dissolve some of this into the new fuel, especially if you are using fuel with ethonal in it, as...

    Suzuki Motors

Just to reiterate- Suzuki remains committed to marine. ATV and motorcycle sales in the US, and it is basically business as usual for us dealers. Suzuki's line of cars sells well internationally, but hasn't done well is the US. Too small.

Lovely evening on the CR bar...

There is a reason the coast Guard does their rollover boat training on the Columbia River bar.... A nasty bit of water that deserves lots of respect. Having fished in the Pacific outside that bar, I have crossed it many times over a number of years. I have been across that bar when it was a...
