Installing Radar - Degree of dip?

George, I don't know about the angle issue - all I can tell you is that I mounted mine on the 5" Power Tower as Les has suggested and it seems to work just fine without shims. Great performance at speed and at rest. Don't kow if it could be improved by fidgeting with the angle a bit, but I've...

    Radar recommendations?

For those looking at the C-80 package, you might want to call Consumer Marine Electronics 1-800-332-2628 (http://www.consumersmarine.com) and ask them for a quote on your whole package. When I bought mine, their catalog price was the lowest I could find, but they did even better when I called...

    VHF Antenna location/mounting

Thanks for all of the quick responses, folks!! Top seems unanimous, which was kind of what I thought. Was thinking about one of those 4 ft digital antennas, but opted for the greater length. The little 3 ft job I have now just doesn't cut it. I'm going to take advantage of this great weather...

    VHF Antenna location/mounting

I'm looking for some input on mounting options for an 8 ft VHF antenna. I have a 3 ft, 3 dB whip right now, but transmission just isn't reliable enough. Have looked at the other threads and although there's lot on radio types and antenna pros/cons, I didn't see much on pros/cons for mounting...

    C-Dory as a survey vessel???

I'm sure you're right about the 25 having extra room, and I'd definitely go that way myself if I was purchasing for survey work. Guess I was really just cautioning that you shouldn't expect a huge amount of extra space, especially aft, considering the amount of cabling, etc. that ends up back...

    C-Dory as a survey vessel???

Hi Michael, I can speak to your query, as I'm in the same work and have used my boat, a 22 cruiser, for survey. I'm at Washington College, on Maryland's Easetrn Shore. We're on the Chester River & Chesapeake Bay and usually use the college's 31 ft workboat for survey. However it is very slow...

Winter PUNs - Cabin fever setting in?

Funny but real excerpts from resumes, job applications and cover letters: "Wholly responsible for two (2) failed financial institutions." "Reason for leaving last job: Maturity leave." "Failed bar exam with relatively high grades." "It's best for employers that I not work with people." "Let's...

    06/02 - 06/04 - Lankford Bay Marina, Eastern Shore

Ouch, Pat. You know, in retrospect I'm not convinced it was lack of gas (altho' it sure was low). We had exactly the same thing happen several times after that incident, but with a full tank of gas - turns out that the engine wiring harness had delaminated. A lot more expensive to fix that...
