What happened to summer? We are still wandering homeward and had great weather until today. Yesterday we were driving in 85 deg weather and this morning we had 34 deg with mixed rain and snow! Makes me want to turn around and head south again. We had a wonderful time at Lake Powell and many...
Harvey,
I think the wear pattern in the gelcoat is caused by the fact that the bottom of the boat changes planes along its length and therefore wears one edge of the bunk forward and the opposite edge aft. At least that is my experience on my 22. I would still stick with the carpet. On my...
Pat,
We had this discussion during the Lake Powell trip. It seems to me that your problems may not be the prop. Most of the 22's reported little or no change in performance. I got exactly the same speed and rpm's I get at sea level or home at 2400 feet elevation. If there were any...
Harvey,
Cypress might be available in the south but I doubt you could find it in the northwest. Purpleheart 2x6's would be very expensive. If it was me I would buy pressure treated fir from a lumber dealer where you can search through the stack. Look for straight boards with as few knots as...
Pat,

Salmon Fisher,
I mounted mine between the engines, 4 inches right of centerline. This seems to be about right to avoid turbulence from the keel. I get fairly good reading on plane and excellent readings at trolling speeds. I have a Lowrance "skimmer" type transducer.
Lyle,
We fished out of Masset the whole time. We did cruise over the Langara Island one day. The southern end is loaded with high-end fishing resorts. We watched about 50 resort boats engaged in "combat fishing" off one Coho Point. If we do it again I will schedule half the time at Masset...
I just added pictures to my album. We had a great fishing trip. We didn’t catch large numbers of chinook but the few we did catch were huge. We had a 42 and a 36lb-the two largest chinook I have caught on the C-Dory. We also had the largest halibut I have caught at 68lb. The coho fishing...
