    16th Annual Catalina Off-Shore Adventure C-Dory Gathering

Think Speedos Joel, an overkill, but it should work clearing the beach... I was just there about a month ago, pitiful West of the pier. Volleyball court removed (very bad), picnic tables and BBQs scrunched into a small area, etc. Looked very uninviting and in my opinion, the people occupying...

    Window tinting...

My CD25 has tinted windows. I had them installed within the first year I owned it, 13 yrs ago. Lighter on the side windows, darker for the rears including the bathroom window, none on front windows. During the daytime it is hard to see into the cabin from the outside, nice on inside. The...

    16th Annual Catalina Off-Shore Adventure C-Dory Gathering

On the Airport Hike, I think I'll go with the trail from Ripper's Cove. It looks to be somewhat shorter (as the crow flies) than from White's Landing, but I'm sure it will be more difficult. I believe either route would be shorter than the 7.5 mile hike from Little Harbor on the South side...

    16th Annual Catalina Off-Shore Adventure C-Dory Gathering

Wow, that's unbelievable! There goes the ambiance of Two Harbors. It'll be like going to Raging Waters. Let me tell you how I really feel, oh wait, that will violate the rules of this site. I have to count to ten and cool off.....

    16th Annual Catalina Off-Shore Adventure C-Dory Gathering

Thanks Tim and Dr. Bob. That's the kind of information that's very hard to get, personal knowledge. I have done the Little Harbor to Airport in the Sky hike 4 times, the last was much hotter (February) and thus much harder, nearly exhausted at 1/2 the way back -- with both kids with me (9 and...

    16th Annual Catalina Off-Shore Adventure C-Dory Gathering

Hey Tim, This is a little off topic, but I've been looking for a way to hike from the North facing side of Catalina to the airport, maybe around Goat Harbor, any information on a trail from there? In the past (way past) I've hiking many times from Little Harbor to the airport, but it's a...

    15th Annual Delta/Bay Extravaganza - 2017

Yes, I believe I've been on that highway, at least the one from Tonopah to Ely--many times during my college years visiting my uncle near Twin Falls, ID. I don't recall spreading screws on that particular highway...:-). You were LUCKY, very, to catch it during a stop. I had checked all my...

    15th Annual Delta/Bay Extravaganza - 2017

Delta Extravaganza #15 in the books! Another great trip hosted by Jim and Kathy. We particularly enjoyed the rain for a couple of days, really makes you sleep DEEP. We always enjoy the comradery and just generally good times with good folks at these gatherings. Thanks again to John and Robin...

    15th Annual Delta/Bay Extravaganza - 2017

Wow, just missed the launching. But it would be great to see her wet in the water. Thanks for the info, it will be a must-see on our Sausalito visit. I took a poll, all 4 of us would like to go on the duck tour if there's still room. Alex, Carmen, Erika and myself. No worries if not enough...

    15th Annual Delta/Bay Extravaganza - 2017

Hi Jim/Kathy, Really looking forward to this trip even more than usual, not sure why, but perhaps a more difficult work year than normal, don't know. Alex and I and possibly my son, Miles, will be going--Miles is tentative, he's still evaluating getting up before 10am each day... :-) I'll let...

C-Dory Aesthetics vs. Functionality - which is it?

50-50. As Roger said, the looks attract you, the functionality makes you want to keep it forever. I'm considering how much a grave site would cost to be buried in it... just kidding. I always get asked how fact will she go (usually anchored at a harbor)... I generally answer that I have to...

    15th Annual Catalina Off-Shore Adventure

Yep, still going. Might be a shortened trip or full length, still unsure at this time, but Monday-Wednesday for sure. I can supply the dessert for Monday's potluck.

    Don Bradley (Blue Eagle)

David, so sorry to hear about Don. He was a special guy, lived life to the fullest even when he didn't feel the best. I'm glad to have known him. My deepest sympathy to you and your family, may God bless.

    Bearing Buddy Question

I too have Bearing Buddies, they have a blue indicator ring to push to determine if full. Two things I've learned over the years. ONLY FILL THEM when they're hot, that way you won't 'generally' have a problem with overfilling and blowing the inner oil seal, which I've done many times before...

Question on canvas color for blue 2015 CD 25

I whole-heartedly agree with Boris, choose a light color. I chose dark green to match my boat, big mistake, it heats the interior well above 120F on a summer day. It even melts any plastic it comes in contact with.

    14th Annual Delta/Bay Extravaganza, April 6 to 10, 2016

Nice pics everyone. Seems as the years go by we (on Dora Jean) take less and less pictures, so it's nice to have others take some, always brings back great memories of each trip. And each trip has it's own unique environment and circumstances, so never are two the same. Great video Floyd, I...
