    Radar question

Following the above advice, I unbolted the radar dome and rotated it a few degrees. The ghosts seemed to turn as I rotated the thing so I concluded that the mast for the GPS and anchor light was causing the problem. I removed the mast and built a base for the antenna and mounted the anchor...

Help prevent expensive Ethonal related repairs

I believe that in the future, electricity will increasingly power the transportation and recreational boating industries. In 10-20 years, carbon based fuels will be a minor energy supply. Here is where the energy goes in vehicles with internal combustion engines. Here is where it goes in an...

    Engines

I am a fan of technology so I chose the Suzuki 175s because of the offset powerhead, variable valve timing and variable intake. Their reputation was also a big factor. The gearing has allowed me to pull 16X23" props and the combination has resulted in 2.5mpg at most planing speeds. I am totally...

    Propane lockers, heater and cooktop

The lockers are sealed well. If they leaked at all it would be probably be at the hatch and the propane would go into the cockpit. No alarms. I probably would need several but I don't see any more potential for disaster than from having 150 gallons of gasoline aboard. Not sure of the stove...

    Kicker on a Tomcat

I'm sort of looking at this as a place to store the dinghy motor but available to use for trolling as desired. If I position it just right (4-6" higher than in the photo) it may not need to be raised at speed.

    Suggestion Box for C-Dory Factory

Roger, You have a good idea about using the extra length for some storage. It could hold some clothing and other personal items and not interfere with the queen size bed. Our cushions are in four parts and work pretty well but there is some looseness on the sides. The 2" wide velcro strips hold...

    Suggestion Box for C-Dory Factory

Roger, Oh yeah, I forgot about the different cushion arrangements. Maybe the hinged cover could act like a hood prop.

    Suggestion Box for C-Dory Factory

Being a person who recognizes a good idea when he sees on but also can never leave anything alone, I seized upon Roger's hatch modification and added some stainless hinges. I bought 6" of stainless piano hinge from Mcmaster Carr, cut the access panels similar to Roger's, cut the hinge into...

    Propane lockers, heater and cooktop

Roger on the "SENSEI" asked about my propane locker so I thought I would post about how I built the system. Please ask if I missed some important point. After reading all the information on-line about propane storage, I knew I needed a proper storage locker. I measured carefully and decided...
