Port Side Bilge Pump Wont Turn Off - Tomcat 255

There are probably two electrical circuits to each bilge pump. One is from the switch (fused at control panel behind the steering station) and the other is on all of the time (probably fused near a battery) just in case (automatic). pulling both fuses going to that pump will stop it from...

    keel guard ?

Hi, We have had keel guard on our 2006 22 C-Dory since new (put on by Les Lampman), and we beach all of the time. It is still in place protecting that part of the hull from rocks, barnacles and other "land based" enemies of boating. We also had keel guard on our Boston Whaler for many years...

    Fuel lines

When starting with empty fuel lines I find that I need to hold the bulb so the line to the engine is "up" so the check valve in the bulb is closed by gravity. Then pumping will open and close the valve correctly and fill the filter and carb bowls. Try it and see if that will fill the system.

    First cruise. Well, almost.

I am not positive but I think the detent that holds the transmission in gear (or neutral) is in the powerhead, not in the lower unit. If the shift shaft is not connected it is possible the transmission "drifted" from neutral to a gear position while being trailered. Probably just needs to be...

    C-Dory 2006 22 Fuel Tank capacity

I do as Matt says. I completely empty the tanks (I do add Stabil to the tank to treat any small amount of fuel left behind). I also replace the water separating filter at the beginning of each new season. And by the way I have found water, fine dust and debris in the bowl during the boating...

    VSR Chatter

This will happen if at idle your alternator does not deliver enough current to satisfy the needs of the entire electrical system. The pot puller is probably the biggest user, and the alternator is not keeping up. To save the engine battery the relay will temporarily disconnect the auxiliary...

    replacement fuel tanks

So I just had to look. My tanks are the Moeller tanks shown in the pictures "Adeline" posted, tank numbers FT 2536 and FT 2537, both marked 25 gallon. I usually only put 23 gallons in each since then tend to "spit" out the vent when approaching 25 gallons. Oh, ours is a 2006 CD 22 Cruiser.

    Wallas Heater Thumping

Sounds like the fuel pump. The rate will be faster on high than on low. Ours has always had a dull thump, but I find the heater (lid) fan much more annoying than the thump of the fuel pump.

Cell Phones and Other Sources of Fires when Refueling

About 15 years ago a fellow employee left for lunch and on the way to eat decided to refill the fuel tank of his Ford F-250. As he placed the nozzle into the tank filler and pulled the lever he was looking directly at the filler (no vacuum collar on the nozzle) and saw a tiny spark jump between...

    Scissor chocks?

I routinely remove the caster wheel since my driveway is paved and a good push would send the boat and trailer off the level area and down to a STEEP and twisting demise! I use wheel chocks also but I have wondered about the scissor devices to guarantee a stationary rest! My trailer is also a...

    Bennett Trim Tab Reservoir

Mine is the same way, being mounted between the two fuel tanks and above the bilge pump. Works fine, just be sure the liquid level is between the full marks when the tabs are retracted.
