    Suzuki 2007 DF50TL trim sender

Thanks Marco Flamingo, I've e-mailed Suzuki Marine. Luckily the tilt and trim still work and I can adjust the trim by feel 'cause I don't expect a speedy reply. Since the old senders have been superseded there must be a manufacture's approved way to connect it back up. I'm hoping there's...

    Suzuki 2007 DF50TL trim sender

Hello: Has anyone replaced the trim sender on a Suzuki 2007 DF50TL? After researching the part I ordered a new one. It should be a fairly straight replacement, however, the old one has two leads (as shown in the manual) and the new one has four leads. I rechecked the parts number and the...

Question: roof rail diameter 16' Cruiser?

Hey again DMcD, I was thinking about when I moved 60 lbs of dive weights around in a battery storage case and had a thought... Counterbalance the kayak with an equal amount of weight mounted on the floorboards on the centerline. Another deep cycle marine battery (approx. 60 lbs) near where...

Question: roof rail diameter 16' Cruiser?

Hey DMcD, Don't get too disheartened and don't take any "chiding" seriously at all, 'dey jus' be funnin' wid yew win dey chide yew.' Take the boat out and use it and build slowly from there. The CD 16's will take you out and bring you home safely in weather other boats of a similar size...

Question: roof rail diameter 16' Cruiser?

Hey DMcD, Fifty pounds? Even on an inland lake fifty pounds on the roof of a CD 16 cruiser would make it squirrely. I use mine on Lake Wateree here in SC, an inland lake and I wouldn't put fifty pounds on the roof. Here's a suggestion for you before you expend the funds on a roof rack...

Question: roof rail diameter 16' Cruiser?

Hey, I have a 2007 16 ft cruiser and the handrails on the roof are 7/8 inch. I would add, be careful of any weight put in the roof of the 16 as it will compromise your center of gravity and it is "lively" enough as it is. Good luck and safe boating. Spuncopper

    Suzuki 90 Won't Start

Hello, I had a similar problem with my Suzuki DF 50; very frustrating. I finally took it to a mechanic. He found the problem fairly quickly, it was a ground wire; and, it was my bad. I had replaced my starting battery and due to a neck surgery I couldn't see or reach under the motor well...

Washington Excise Tax and Federal Camping Fees on CD 16

Howdy, I would suggest e-mailing the Park Superintendent. Here on the east coast they've been pretty good at responding to my questions.

    16 cruiser seat

Hey once again Jackie. On my CD 16 there was an 6"X6"X1 1/2" wood spacer. The Springfield Universal replaced those without losing nor gaining any height. When I mounted the port side seat I slide the Universal as far aft as I could and drilled new mounting holes. It now slides far enough aft...

    16 cruiser seat

Hey Jackie, Cabela has them, I have them on both seats and they made a big difference in using the boat. They are made by Springfield, Universal Seat Slides part number ST-01-3926-003at $82.99. You may be able to find them cheaper on the internet. Good luck, Spuncopper

    New boatman. Need some help.

Hello, The foam injected behind the panel may be causing the problem. it adheres pretty strongly. You may have to make a bladed tool out of a material softer than the fiberglass and work it along the hull to break it loose. Good luck.

    Suzuki owners - question

Hey Folks, I've been following this thread for a couple of days. I have a 2007 DF 50. I purchased a SELCO Suzuki Outboard Repair Manual 1996-2007 just after I purchased my C Dory. There was enough info in the manual that I was able to locate the power head anodes. On the 2007 DF 50 they are...

    angler vs cruiser (16')

Hey Jack Keifer, The two inch "dam" is a good idea and worth mulling over. What I recently did was made fillers out of PVC lumber to block the openings in front of the seat box. I made two card board patterns and used PVC lumber from Lowes to make the fillers. I installed them using Loctite...

    angler vs cruiser (16')

Hey Wood Zeppelin, There has been a lot of good advice posted, so I thought I'd contribute our experiences. My wife and I are rustic camper types, too. We chose the Cruiser over the Angler because of the v berth. We use this little boat on the fresh water lakes here in SC. I am 6 ft. 3 in...

Cdory 16 handle short choppy water

Hello again Carolina Sturgeon: This past week, we took our 16 Cruiser up to Lake Wateree. There was a decent chop running of 12 plus inches. Thinking about your question I brought our boat up to WOT (5400 rpms) just to see if we were pounded. We weren't. The little boat skimmed over the chop...

Cdory 16 handle short choppy water

Hey once again Carolina Sturgeon, You shouldn't have a problem running 15-18 mph in a 6 inch to 1 foot chop depending on your engine hp and load. I run a Suzuki 50, with power tilt and trim and the earlier mentioned StingRay Classic Hydrofoil Stabilizers. We got caught in a thunderstorm...

Cdory 16 handle short choppy water

Hey Carolina Sturgeon: I boat in Lake Wateree in a 16 Cruiser. This is one boat, when the rest are running for cover, will handle the lake chop wonderfully. I use a StingRay Classic Hydrofoil Stabilizer (XPI Senior 40hp and up) for trim purposes. It does fine. As far as speed, I usually...

    Busted

Hey guys, It might not mean anything that the skipper of this C-Cory was stopped. I worked as an Aux. Florida Marine Patrol officer while I was stationed in Panama City, Fl. and we often stopped boats for life jackets/safety checks. I did several ride-alongs with the Game Wardens in...

Why is my 16 with a Honda 40 so slow?

Hey Stan: I have a 16 Cruiser with a Suzuki 50. When we're (2 adults) loaded out for an overnighter I've found my 16 to be slow, too. It struggles to get up on a plane and unless I have a long run it won't come up to full throttle rpms. If you look at the USCG Max, Capacity plate it'll...
