    Tomcat 255 owners - questions

I guess my I-90 Montana inspectors were a little more understanding as my Tomcat does not have bilge plugs/drains, and luckily they didn't make me drill some. They did flush my engines and when I tried to tip them they said no.

Anyone know the length of CD25 from Boweye to transom?

Very interesting. I have never heard of a boat shaking apart from thicker sidewall tires? Perhaps they were out-of-round? Was this a C-Dory you nearly lost from shaking tires?

LED spot light on bow rail

I fully concur with Gulfcoastjohn's comments, but I have become a huge fan of LED's with their low power demands and significantly less heat output. I suggest also considering the Larson 6 million candlepower LED version at a slightly less price: "6 Million Candlepower Rechargable LED Light...

    Daily Laugh 2

Veteran Pillsbury spokesman Doughboy has died. Doctor's Thataway and Gulfcoastjohn were at his side, and reported he died of a severe yeast infection and complications from repeated pokes to the belly. He was 92. Doughboy was buried in a lightly greased coffin. Dozens of celebrities turned out...

Seattle Boat Show - Such a sparse showing

Bodily harm is not a worry for me. Vicki will sell me before I can sell the Tomcat.

The Nashville Skyline Cumberland & Tennessee Rivers Crui

Thanks Colby! I didn't mean to take the thread off topic, and re-reading my post I kind of sounded like I never like to go slow. I actually very much enjoy displacement speeds where there are lots of things to look at, such as busy harbors, rivers teaming with wildlife, or new vistas around...

Flawed but still interesting comparison- E-TEC and Yamaha

I wish they would have included a Suzuki in the comparison. While my Tomcat has Honda 150's my previous boat had a Suzuki 175. With the help of PropGod it was propped perfectly for my use and it was my all time favorite outboard. With 2500 hrs on my twin Honda's, my next re-power will be by...

The Nashville Skyline Cumberland & Tennessee Rivers Crui

Thanks Colby. My Tomcat likes/needs 18 to 22 mph, and while 16 is doable anything much less than that seems to attract empty beer can tossing from fellow boaters experincing my wake. A major reason for my moving from 'blow-boats' to 'gas' was to increase exploration opportunities, and at the the...

The Nashville Skyline Cumberland & Tennessee Rivers Crui

Five boats sounds like a good group number to me, plus 16 mph is a tad slow for my Tomcat, so please disregard my request for consideration. I also have a heavy commitment in mid-October so probably best to limit my travel to Labor day meet at Alton. Best regards, John

Our favorite marina/campground in New Orleans is Pontchartrain Landing. It's gated and has daily shuttles to the French Quarter, which is only 12 minutes away. It's not cheap but probably less than a luxury resort on the keys. You could also do some touring with your boat perhaps? You might give...

    Tomcat 255 bottom paint

Pettit Hydrocoat SR for me. I've been very pleased. Came with used Tomcat from Pacific waters (Bodega Bay and Newport) and now used on inland lakes, Mississippi river, and soon Florida Water based, smooth surface, durable, with very easy touch-up, not to mention zero 'growth'.

    Felony animal cruelty

I can't help but wonder if the 'towing of fish is prohibited' in the California "boater card" training syllabus?.......you just can't fix stupid.

"When I was young, I decided to go to medical school. At the entrance exam, we were asked to rearrange the letters P-N-E-I-S to form the name of an important human body part which is most useful when erect. Those who answered “SPINE” are doctors today, while the rest of us are on Facebook". I...
