    Wallypower 118?

Now I know what really happened to Dr. No! Another case of too much money, too little sense or taste. Couldn't they at least have put some flames along the sides to give it a little class.

    siphoning out water tank

We use clear plastic hose on the sink faucet as a siphon, run it out the cockpit window to the ground where it is about 6' lower than the faucet and about 3-4' lower than the tank bottom. It works well but is not fast. There is a steady stream of water coming out, not just drops. I just connect...

boat storage for next 2 months?

You might try Matt Guernsey at Kitsap Marine in Port Orchard. Matt was a long time C-Dory dealer and had/has a very good reputation.

    Breakers!

Glad to hear you got safely out. They are amazing boats aren't they! Did you have to cut any lines? And, did I read right that you were in just a few feet of water?

Bringing food into Canada--hope this is the right forum

We have always been completely honest and have never had a problem. But then we don't try to get by with too much over the limit.

From lurking to owning.........Plan C has new owners

We did without a windlass for several years but I got tired of going out on the bow, hauling 100-150' of chain and line out of the locker, paying it out, cleating it off, then going out onto the bow, hauling it up, feeding it down into the anchor locker, washing my hands and arms, etc. We went...

    Boat Trailering and Invasive Species

Staying completely out of the reason for this thread, Zebra and Quagga mussels are serious business. You only have to look at how they spread, the virtual impossibility of getting rid of them once in place, and their economic impact ($9+ billion in just 1995-1999) in places where they are...

    September/October Sequim Gathering?

    Removal of racor fuel filter.

We have had similar problems in the past. Now I use anti-seize on the threads and lips of both the metal filter and clear bowl. Just started that so I have no experience with how well it works. We also mark the installation date on the outside of the filter. We use either a small oil filter...

    protect hull from anchor chain

We use a piece of self adhesive stair tread cover. It is white, about 1/8" thick and has been on our bow for several years with no debonding. It is very unobtrusive. You should be able to find it at a hardware or home store. It come is either small sheets, maybe 6x12" or rolls. We just cut it to...

    Interesting docking procedures/maneuvers

Yup, our rule is don't approach the dock any faster than you are willing to hit it. But... I sure do dock by braille from time to time.

    Do I Need Trailer Brakes?

We have led lights and surge brakes. We never unplug but have added sealant to the lights and any connections to try and reduce saltwater intrusion. No problems thus far. I don't particularly like surge brakes. On our travel trailer we had electric over hydraulic and to me they were...

    Cabin leak in 1999 22-foot C-Dory

If you are talking about the bulkhead between the cockpit and the cabin check the seam along the bottom. There have been instances where that has been compromised. While looking for a small leak (from another source it turns out) I discovered some sloppy work, cleaned it out and resealed that...

Coast Guard survey about future of electronic navigation

Thanks very much Bob. I just took the survey and encourage others to do so. It is little trouble and offers opportunities for comment.

    vintage runabouts

At one time in the distant past I had a 12'8" Aristocraft complete with fins and Johnson 35. Pretty snazzy. Being young, a genius and immortal I took it to Catalina island

South sound recommendations for short visit

We have been to dock street marina in Tacoma twice and have enjoyed it very much. It is a good modern well-maintained marina and is immediately adjacent to the glass museum, the state history museum (which is much cooler than your memories of history museums  ). There is a free trolley...

OK I am still confused on the prop/engine

about the same. WOT/prop is for that engine with that prop. It will still do that WOT with that prop regardless of how many other engines are there beside it.

OK I am still confused on the prop/engine

No...it means that the single 40 will still get to 5400 (or so) RPM but it will not plane my 22, that little engine and prop just doesn't have enough ooomph to do that. I have experimented and the one 40, at WOT will move the boat (heavily loaded) at about 10 to maybe 12 kts, not quite on plane...
