Roger,
Well done cruise and barbecue. Finally found me a mate that's the near perfect companion, and that everyone else seems to enjoy as well.....Muffin!! We both had a great time. Monday to Thursday camping in the Sierra's....Saturday & Sunday on the water in Santa Barbara.....can't beat it.
Suffer'n Succotash, that sounds great, Rog.
How's your boat? Last I saw, it was still up on blocks getting a tummy rub. From the looks of it, it would seem the guy who did the fiberglass layup fell asleep on the job, leaving a bunch of voids. Bad enough that it happened to your boat, but I...
Have been an owner of a Canon 10D for years, awaiting the new 40D scheduled for September announcement. Well, lucky me, got one of the first ones delivered. 10.1 mpx, 3 inch LCD, fast as all get out, plus alot more advanced upgrades.
Here's the link to the E.Q. Marine site announcing their exclusive dealership for the west coast for Rosborough 246 boats.

I think C-Dory has some major problems. Despite two "surveys" and two years of hearing complaints about quality control, the same problems still exist. In the shift to higher production and bigger dealerships and faster turover, the factory is standing to lose the loyalty of the very people...
Dan,
Mark has probably given you the best guess.......the screws afixing the bronze stem to the bow were drilled too long, and breached the hollow area within the hull containing the foam flotation. This was a problem just after the change of C-Dory owners a few years ago. The foam flotation...
Jeff,
Not sure there too much to be concerned about at the 20 hour check. That's why the plug is magnetic.....to catch those shavings. That's one of the reasons why the first service is at 20 hours......to change out the initial fluids that pick up initial wear debris. If it still occurs at...
No doubt about it......it's butt ugly. Absolutely nothing inovative about it....just a big overgrown c-dory without the graceful lines. Thing looks like a tub. And I agree with the previous post that no consideration seems to have been given to ergonomics for the helmsman. I guess he's...
Rather bad news for me. I've been recovering nicely from a back spasm that I had last week, and thought I'd be ok by Catalina, but had a setback today that's going to keep me from going. I had planned to take my dog, and worried about lifting her in and out of the boat from the dingy, rowing...
Brent,
Chase Park is first come, first served, but it's never been a problem for Sunday night. Most people are gone by Sunday morning or afternoon. After you launch, come down channel to Chase Park, tie up in any vacant spot, and go up to the office to register. By noon, I should be there to...
Need to get a handle on how many boats and how many people will attend this year. It ssems that not everyone who is attending has signed up on the site's signup page, so check this list for your boat, and then post a reply as to how many people will be aboard and if you will be going over with...
Time is just flying by.....almost time for Catalina. Let the fun begin!!
Some of us, as usual, will meet in Marina Del Rey on Sunday, 8/19 and head to Two Harbors, en masse, in the morning on Monday.
Monday night - Beach Barbecue - main course is on me, everyone else brings extras...
Yo Roger, nice fish. When last I fished in B.C. for King Salmon, we used salt water fly rods, fly rod reel, and down riggers. Those reels were called knuckle busters because there was no reverse lockout. When the fish ran against the drag, the reel handle would spin. Talk about exciting...
Our new launch docks are in!! Properly positioned now for launch and retrieval. Rest of the slips are due to go in in October or Novenber. On Monday, they will be welding a new cable attachment to the cradle, for improved effectiveness of the hoist. I believe this will give an additional 2-3...
